Under GP we were a bit of a social media joke due to the XG thing although there was some recognition our football was greatly improved, more recently - the end of GP era going into RDZ era - there's alot of genuine respect for our football and transfer activity. Chelsea fans seem to hate us though

If it is true, this is England and it will change in next to no time. Oh get Brighton, ooh we're so well run, ooh, we've got a world cup winner, oooh look at all this amazing talent we've unearthed. F off, sanctimonious wnkers etc etc

The commentators and pundits on ESPN Brasil always talk positively about us but I still get mostly a confused look and a 'who?' when asked who I support.

How's this for a comment on the media review(club website)
“Talk about getting noticed... It's rumoured that the Seagulls' change kit now rivals the Great Wall of China as the only man-made object visible from the moon. However there is no doubt the future is bright for De Zerbi's brilliant, battling Brighton.
It made me chuckle :lolol:

I have to disagree re Fulham. Decent, knowledgeable fan base and still a community club in the heart of London. The fans I meet on a daily basis are highly impressed with our progress.

Besides, my income would drop considerably if they got relegated!
At least you didn't use the word "nice" or go on about Victoria sponge. They've probably lined their concourse with cute pictures of kittens since the last time somebody started going on about how bloody nice they are.
I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I stand by it. They can piss off.

It is fantastic seeing all the BHA hats/caps etc. being worn by all ages when out and about locally. Definitely a rise in that.

I think the rule is that the more times you play a team, the more reasons you find to dislike them. I used to like watching a few premier league teams in the old days. I find it hard to stomach pretty much all of them now
Yep. And conversely another decade not playing Sheffield Wednesday should see off those negative feelings for good.

Only reason i have for caring about such things is the more popular we are the more opportunities the club has to make money. The more money we make the less need to sell all our best players.

Yawn. Only saw title to know that it would attract the 'do you remember Rochdale on a wet Wednesday?' type posts.

Frankly, all this 'we are a well run club', 'dunno how they do it' type posts are condescending. Posters who put this crap elsewhere only do so because they don't believe it is sustainable; if they did, the tone would be different. To them, Brighton might be interesting, but they are not a threat.....yet.

The only trick in town is to beat Liverpool, then beat Bournemouth, then Palace, then Fulham etc etc. And go on doing this for several seasons.

We had all this in Championship; I wish I had kept notes of few threads of the first 5-6 seasons in the 2010s when posters were moaning because pundits focussed on the (then) relegated teams as they (surely) would be the ones to challenge for promo. It took until 2017 to be recognised as a true force in that League. Same again, but this time we have to break the mould of top 6 (and, yes, it is till top 6, 2-3 of them may have a crap season but they will be back, as Arsenal and Man U have shown).

It can happen; for my part I will more than happy when we are one of the least popular teams.

In fairness I've not see as many of those irrelevant posts as I was expecting - probably because I was expecting bazillions.
I'm quite buoyed by the amount of 'not this bollox again'.

In the past I've had my moments, but that club is a completely different entity to the current set up.
The further apart they become I think the more pointless (and probably self-aggrandizing) it all becomes.

As they say often on the Palace board 'The most needy fan base out there'

:)
I had a look there just now. There is actually a thread comparing recruitment and scouting success with quite a few posters conceding that we are years ahead of them in the use of data. Some are refusing to accept it and put it down to luck that will eventually run out, but either way it’s certainly pissing them off.
