Just noticed on the BBC sports website and it looks like The Pilgrims are about to appoint Mr Rooney as manager, is there something in the water down there ?
GeniusBetween them and Millwall. Sounds like he's caught between a rock and a hard place.
Maybe they did in terms of a job interview / due diligence etc and Rooney came off better. I guess the fact that Rooney is a bigger name helps and whether that's right or wrong that is how football works. Why didn't they go for Rosenior?
He turned them down! Why didn't they go for Rosenior?
Couldn’t afford Rosenior according to my STH mateMaybe they did in terms of a job interview / due diligence etc and Rooney came off better. I guess the fact that Rooney is a bigger name helps and whether that's right or wrong that is how football works.
Because he is all lined up for the Albion job.Why didn't they go for Rosenior?
It's certainly true that our Wayne has been getting a lot of bad press, much of it unfair in my opinion. Yes ok the wheels did come off for him massively both in the States and at Birmingham, but his allegiance to Derby County, and the incredible job he did in keeping them up seems to have been forgotten by many.Maybe they did in terms of a job interview / due diligence etc and Rooney came off better. That was last weekJust noticed on the BBC sports website and it looks like The Pilgrims are about to appoint Mr Rooney as manager, is there something in the water down there ?
Spot on, he's held in very high regard among Rams. Don't know much about DC but the Birmingham job was a poisoned chalice. Give him time and I think it'll work out. Derby had a brief spurt of success when he first arrived but then ended the season with 7 points from 15 games. That brief spurt is now over 4 years ago and is as good as it’s got for his managerial career. His bad press is totally just; he’s a crap manager. It's certainly true that our Wayne has been getting a lot of bad press, much of it unfair in my opinion. Well that's hardly any great surprise, they didn't survive by much the last time around.Bookies now make Plymouth Argyle favourites to be relegated from the Championship next season.
