De Zerbi moves up the charts before even managing a game!

I really think Rob Edwards was incredibly naive to take that job, he left a really good position at a progressive club to take a job he knew would be 6 months at best. It's a strange one for me unless he's been able to bank a huge sum of money. Careerwise I think it was a bad decision.

11 games in, and its hardly been a disastrous start, they're only 1 point outside the playoffs. Absolutely bizarre, even by Watfords standards. Makes me wonder if something else hasn't gone off behind the scenes.

I bet Forest Green's owners are p*ssing themselves. Still, as with all Watford managers, at least he now got a whopping great pile of cash to cry in to.

I really think Graham Potter was incredibly naive to take that job, he left a really good position at a progressive club to take a job he knew would be 6 months at best. It's a strange one for me unless he's been able to bank a huge sum of money. Careerwise I think it was a bad decision.

Edited for accuracy.

Doubt it .
If he’d stayed at FGR they’d probably be doing a lot better in league one.
It’s been lose lose lose for Watford FGR and Edwards

Overall, you're absolutely right. No-one really wins in this scenario but, given the way he left and excluding the hypothetical "if he stayed" scenarios, I still wouldn't begrudge the owners a wry smile

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back there before Christmas.
Although the FGR owner is a bit of a nob, so maybe he wouldn’t forgive

Name 13 of them (no cheating )

Rob Edwards, Roy Hodgson, Claudio Ranieri, Xisco, Vladimir Ivic, Quique Sanchez Florez, Javi Garcia... now it starts to become difficult. Pretty sure Gianfranco Zola was there for a while... some other Yugoslavian as well. Probably missing out on a bunch of Italians.

I can see why he took the job - more money and a good chance of promotion - but clearly the job has come too early in his career.

You wonder what the rationale is from the Watford boardroom. It might work out quite well for them; Bilic comes into the job after a huge summer clearout (50-odd players transferred, released, loaned out), he knows what he has to work with and has the experience of getting West Brom up from a similar position. Maybe he didn't want to do that summer dirty work; telling a load of young players you don't know they're out can't be a pleasant task.

Indeed, Edwards must be quite angry about this having joined at the start of the summer, probably working non-stop to oversee the ins and outs of playing staff, getting off to a reasonable start but then seeing Emmanuel Dennis sold at the end of the window after already losing Josh King, Andre Gray and Cucho Hernandez.

Amazingly, I don't think the list includes BFS, Pulis, Hughes or Pardew
