That sort of debt is just not sustainable in rugby.
Where that leaves Coventry is also a worry. May answer why the pitch was so bad after the commonwealth games

I’ve often thought it strange that a club would be allowed to move its ground to different places eg London, Wycombe and then Coventry - Where does their fan base come from ?

As someone who lives locally, Wasps did it really well initially. The ground was sold out, they put on buses to it (the train station at the ricoh was closed on match days FFS), went round the schools encouraging the kids, partnered with pubs (you could buy a ticket in my local pub and get a free coach) and showed up at local rugby clubs. Kenilworth for example just down the road is a big rugby town.
Covid put a stop to the forward momentum. From sell outs pre covid, there were only about 4000 rattling around there last weekend. A lot of the casuals stopped and never started again. Whatever business plan they had is shot. Whilst I am sure they won't garner any sympathy from football fans who are naturally anti franchise - not to mention cov rugby fans who spat feathers - I see it as a shame simply because they were active in the community.
My biggest issue with them has always been the totally shit name. Who calls themselves Wasps?

Mate of mine is an avid Wasps fan. Lives in Henfield. I guess it's the same as Liverpool fans living in Brighton. They get a buzz from supporting a team regardless of local connection, and yes, I did that on purpose
P..S. If Man Utd moved to a new purpose built ground anywhere else in the country, they would still have an identical sized fanbase.
Could be an opportunity for Coventry to get back their stadium!!

Maybe this might help Coventry City - they could buy back the Ricoh or whatever it is called but I suppose that would depend on how much money they’ve committed to be stadium near Warwick Uni campus

Near me they've been at Loftus Rd and Adams Park, kind of nomadic which is a shame though.
Their former club Osteopath, Tom Hewitson treated my wife for a back complaint, diagnosed it as something else which was correct.

It really isn't. I live in Brighton and support Harlequins. My nearest Premiership team. I've had a ST there before.Given that they only have a couple of titles in the 25 years or so the Premiership has been running, it's hardly glory hunting.
I chose them because they were my nearest team on the professional rugby circuit and I wanted to enjoy watching top level rugby on a regular basis. It's very different to football.
I don't like what Wasps did, but for the good of the game I hope they survive. Rugby doesn't have the silly tribal antipathy of football.

Professionalism has not necessarily been a good thing in rugby. I was a season ticket holder at London Welsh for several years - alternating watching the Albione and the Welsh. I loved it there: stood on the touchline, watching Micky Bell run down the wing and then to the bar for a couple of pints of Felinfoel.
Then they went pro; the cost of the season ticket instantly trebled and I stopped going. The debts mounted and mounted and eventually they went bust and got chucked out of the league.
All is not lost: they reformed as an amateur club, sloshing around the lower leagues. I'm aiming to go and watch them again in the WC break.
Maybe that's the best bet for Wasps - rugby was more fun when it was amateur.

Given Liverpool have only won the title once in the last 25 years of the Premier League, there might be more similarity than you thought. However I jest. I know nothing about rugby, nor do I care. But my mate does, so I'd hate to see them go under.

BT Sport seem to have some love vest with Saracens.
I hope Wasps survive and Worcester do as well.
I can see it now - they will survive by combining as the Worcester Wasps and play at Milton Keynes

I have a great deal of sympathy for Worcester but **** all for Wasps.
This is the club that decided they should be branded as London Wasps because they considered themselves to be the ‘London’ rugby club ….. They then moved to Coventry and in the process screwed over Coventry City FC and Cov rugby club. There’s only one senior rugby club in Coventry and it’s not Wasps.
