Was the ball over the line?

Also why did their bench go mad? Was it because of where the linesman was and did he signal it?

CLEARLY over the line.

They went mad because the ref bottled the decision/didn't see it and the lino stood his ground under intimidating circumstances from most of the Cheltenham players and all of the bench.

According to one of our subs who was behind the goal line it did not cross the line however the lino flagged it immediately and he has the last say.

Why can't you name him?

Because it would not be fair as a colleague asked him as he left the ground.

Besides it was a goal so what does it matter ?

Behind the goals hardly a great view anyway. First instinct I thought it was in and maybe the cheers influenced the lino

The ball was behind the keeper, who must've been on the line or as good as. Goal.

The response of Cheltenham's manager to both goals was highly amusing.

He was ranting on about the first one- I can only assume he was under the impression that it was offside, of which there wasn't even the slightest hint, as Murray simply outpaced their defence.

And as for the second one- from his hilariously over the top reaction, he clearly believes he had a better perspective as to the legitimacy of the goal from his spot by the halfway line, than a professionally qualified match official, standing on the goal line. What a GOON.

They were indicating he was at least a yard off side, even though Murray ran past the defender.

As for the other one, it was Gary Hart who apparently didn't think it was over.

He would have had a very good view.

From the disabled area is actually not a bad view (looking at that corner) to determine whether the ball crossed the line.

Wasn't in there today, but spoke to someone who was and they didn't think it went in.

From low down in D block, I thought it went over.

According to their manager three Brighton players said after the game it wasn't in.

That's good enough for me

But that's what you'd expect Keith Downing to say, as a bitter, losing manager.

The one person who is trained, and paid, to watch the ball in this situation, as opposed to watching the action in the box, was clear that it was over.

He does his job, we all go home happy...end of.
