In the wake of Sheffield Utd fans giving the ref shite for 80 minutes last week.
It's amazing just how many people 70 yards away knew for a FACT it was never a red.

Although both challenges getting the same punishment doesn't quite sit right.

That’s not a red for me either - it’s a sore one and a yellow - mistimed. Modern football seem to forget you get studded every game and it’s a contact sport. My opinion.
Yeah,I can see where your coming from

Obviously not in this case

But surely they can make a boot a lot stronger these days

To avoid the stamp

Not as bad as WBGs, but then his wasn't as bad as Holgates Kung Fu kick on Mitoma, but still a bloody red.

They are nearly identical?. Both reds probably but it’s annoying Maguire gets away with it.

ETA - watching again, Maguire’s is worse. He goes flying in with some pace and looks out of control. Gilmour doesn’t go in that hard and there’s not as much pace or force.

stonewall red i’m afraid, and i’d be screaming for that if it was the other way round

Exactly this, it was in our player we’d be outraged if it wasn’t a red

Harry Maguire today...

Gilmour's was definitely a red - but he got the ball and it was his follow through that got the player - nothing malicious or intentional.

Maguire was nowhere near the ball - a much worse infringement, and should have been a redder red.

Red I’m afraid, though from the stands I thought yellow at the time.

I am interested however, in Tarkowski not getting a second yellow, and no punishment for kicking the ball away.

Usual inconsistent referees

Anyone who thinks that a red - Please feel free to post an equivalent red from this season in the Premier League……..

Not completely identical, but the same sort of thing - going in a bit hard, more related to the follow through than deliberate.

Again, follow through

That's exactly the problem. There was another one v Spuds, can't remember the details but should have been a second yellow and we went on to lose that game in injury time.

A red and a pretty obvious one. Just overran the ball, saw the red mist and went over the top. Almost all straight reds for serious foul play are exactly the same. Player loses possession, gets frustrated and goes in too hard out of anger at their mistake.

100% stonewall I’m afraid.
I think this picture is pretty deceptive. It implies he is going down the back of his left ankle when in fact I am pretty sure there is no contact with left leg at all (they had both block tackled with the ball in between feet) - see video above. Gilmore ends up side kicking the top of the opponents right boot who then fakes injury. Its not a red imho, but once given VAR were not going to over rule. Which games does he miss?

Yellow all day.

Like almost any other foul, you can find an angle to call red.

But the Everton c*** who went down like a bag of aggregate has done his manager proud. The injury was faked. He was fine. And the baldy c*** was very proud of him.
This.

Still, in the end the cheats didn't prosper (from it).
