It wasn’t a goal scoring opportunity, he didn’t do it on purpose
and that's why I say no penalty. Did PGMOL say the Doku decision was incorrect? If not, this is not a penalty. Check badge should not be part of the decision-making process. Before pro Arsenal viewpoints pile in, please remember the benchmark from some experts that Doku got some the ball before his studs struck MacA …. their conclusion that getting to the ball first meant it was not a foul.
A foot to chest collision is a foul, isn't it?I think the difference would be Doku and Mac could be classed as a collision
Because that is why the Doku- Mac Alister penalty was not given, except that Doku kicked him in the chest rather than the shin.I sometimes think I’m in the twilight zone on here, how can a faint touch on a ball give you the right to chop away an attackers’ legs in the penalty area, undignified stuff
First half he was shocking and that ridiculous free kick signalled the start of it.the ref couldn’t wait to give Arsenal a free kick after 30 seconds after the match started,
and it continued throughout the first half especially, and as for the penalty, couldn’t wait to blow his whistle, was always going to give it ,
Sadly the “umpire’s call” is too often a favour the big club call imo. I am pretty certain that penalty would not have been given if it was in the Arsenal box at 0-0.Umpire’s call for me, VAR isn’t overturning the on-field decision whichever way the ref calls it. You could make a case either way but I neither think it’s a ‘stonewall penatly’ nor a travesty of justice.
My mate in the Arsenal end said they had a laugh about how much quicker we were being flagged offside each time compared to them.Sadly the “umpire’s call” is too often a favour the big club call imo. I am pretty certain that penalty would not have been given if it was in the Arsenal box at 0-0.
Yeah, I am a biased cynic and thought the ref gave everything he could to Arsenal in the first half, and the speed with which he pointed to the spot for the pen was telling.
Probably because the lino knew we wouldn’t be scoring, so no point in waitingMy mate in the Arsenal end said they had a laugh about how much quicker we were being flagged offside each time compared to them.
Stephen Warnock showed last week that you can’t take anything he says seriously. Therefore it must be a stonewall penalty.Dermot Gallagher: penalty
Sue Smith: penalty
Stephen Warnock: not a penalty
