He runs a sports shop at 345 Bethnal green Road. Pet shop may be one of the same name but do not think its his.

Sonny Liston.? Your 'avin a laugh

..no.

54 fights, won 50 lost 4 - 39 knock outs...not a bad record really

Herb Goldman, US Fight historian recons he was 2nd all time greatest fighter. Good enough for me.

Herb Goldman never won that many fights. In fact I don't ever recall him getting in the ring.

I give you...Jake la Motta or Rocky Marciano.

what no Brian London or Oscar Bonevena not to mention Dave 'Boy' Green?

London? You've got to be joking.

If you're looking for a Brit to include, I'd go for either Turpin or Buchanan.

my Dad told me an anecdote about Rocky marciano.

Seemly, in some of his more difficult fights, he used to hammer his opponents not with body shots, but with hard punches to their upper arms...after a few rounds of this, the opponents used to begin dropping their arms in pain and he would then go for the chin.

Anyone remember the Sugar Ray/Durrant fights?

Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran ( sorry)

Brilliant fight with Sugar Ray weaving and dodging...after 8 rounds Duran gave up....

In a related debate, how about 'Best Knockout Ever'? This is my personal favourite (sorry, don't know how to embed the video into the page, else I would do):

I love the way they count them out BEFORE checking to see he hasn't swallowed his tongue or whether he is breathing properly.
