Top bloke and a very intelligent view of the game. I'd imagine his scouting reports of our opposition are detailed and contain a lot of useful information on their set up, style and strengths/weaknesses of every player. It must frustrate the hell out of him that it's ignored

I'd far rather listen to his analysis of the game than the drivel that Jones trots out which amounts to little more than "it's a difficult place to come" or "if I'm honest"

I really like him on the radio. He says exactly what he thinks, gives good analysis of us and the opposition and he sounds like he genuinely cares about how we do.

Johnny Byrne is one of my all time Albion heroes but give me WA on the radio every day.

He tells it as he sees it and brings his experience of the game to his comments in a way that has quite often been lacking in the past. He is not afraid to criticise but also praise where he sees fit. This is local radio, not a top budget national station. We are lucky to have him.

Some fans seem to think it is funny because he stumbles over his words sometimes...give him credit...he has a speech defect...but he knows what he is talking about...you keep up the good work Warren..

Agree with this and I started the thread because I have never heard him criticise at this level before. What was interesting for me who wasn't at the game, that the fans who did go, in general they have posted the same thoughts on the game as Warren.

It's amazing how so many people that could be described as 'pig thick' (and yes, Chris Kamara, I'm thinking about you) are considered to have so much football intelligence. WA clearly isn't the sort of thicko that our 'Kammy' is but I still wonder whether the gulf between the way that the top coaches can speak, enunciate and deliver their messages is the difference in how some teams and managers are successful, and how others just try really hard without ever being good enough.

I love hearing The Asp on the match commentary. Frankly, I wish I'd stayed at home yesterday & listened to him. At least I'd have had a few chuckles...
