Not with less than a year to run on his contract, and then consider he's injury prone. We've had his best years.

We have had 5 very good years , paid £50k for him. And we might end up getting £400K, not bad eh.

have always doubted Dick Knights ability in the transfer market, particularly when selling.

Her thought £1.50 was good for the Bobster, with a selling on clause that never kicked in on his move to West Ham.

Not surprised Warnock is chuffed! :nono: :nono: :nono:

What he actually said:

"It is a realistic fee with him coming to the end of his contract, having said that I would value him at double what we have paid."

What is probably nearer the truth:

"We are in desperate need of a decent defender having conceded two in 8 minutes at doomed Rotherham only last week, having said that I still reckon I've paid well and truly over the odds for him"

Blades boss gets his Dan!Sheffield United were poised to confirm the signing of Brighton centre-half Danny Cullip later today.
Neil Warnock's side last night agreed a fee with the Championship strugglers and the 28-year-old was due to travel to Bramall Lane this morning to discuss personal terms.
Brighton's directors called a board meeting yesterday to debate United's interest and, following several hours of negotiations, agreed to accept a bid of £250,000, with a further £150,000 payable if Cullip helps his new teammates achieve promotion during the course of his contract - believed to run for the next two seasons.
Although Cullip has yet to put pen to paper, sources at the Withdean Stadium told The Star that he made up his mind earlier this week that he wanted to move north, spurning the offer of a deal described as "one of the best Brighton have offered in their recent history".
The capture of the former Fulham stopper, one of the toughest defenders outside of the top flight, brings to an end Warnock's search for another "leader" - the type of character he believes will help stregthen his side's Premiership bid during the second half of the campaign.
Providing Cullip's agent recommended that he accepts United's offer, he was to be confirmed as Warnock's latest acquisition later today.

I am just as gutted we have lost Sir Danny as everyone but we'll just have to accept it.

Everyone knows our plight and if I was a manager in need of a decent center back then I would come to a struggling team (such as we are at Withdean) and do the same!

Its football, we must move on and please everyone get behind the lads tonight so we beat Stoke!!

How can he be injury prone if he's made 242 appearances in 5 years ... avg 50 a season .
Paul Kitson was injury prone not DC

I love the way you all think we'll get 400k.

Chances of Sheff Utd going up this season or the next two?

Warnock done us over like a kipper in the play-off final when he was with Notts County.

I don't think even he will make Danny Cullip's legs run any faster though?

I'm a bit dubious about a portion of the fee only being payable if they get promotion.

Given the Blades current position in the table, that's a bit like White Star Lines saying to the captain of the Titanic "there's an extra bonus in it for you if you can make it to New York within 3 days instead of 4".

Sheffield United's chances of promotion this year are only marginally better than the chances of Neil Warnock making it through 2005 without appearing before the FA's disciplinary committee again.
