Off today, according to CH on R5.

Wouldn’t say where, but joked that Brighton is currently warmer.

Assume the sick players won’t be allowed to travel.

Why do they use Holiday Inn for away games then and share rooms? Obviously the rooms will not be basic bed only but no need for super luxury suites, which they wont have.

Holiday Inn makes sense for an away game, it's normally a one night stay and they just need a place to bed down for the night in preparation for the next days match. They don't need the luxuries a more upmarket hotel would provide. For a training camp when they are away from home then they would more than likely go for something with facilities that allow the players some R&R time outside of training during their down time. Sharing of rooms isn't about saving money but more about bonding with your team mates and having some company when away from your family.

Assume the sick players won’t be allowed to travel.

Cheapest training camp ever for the club then with the way our injury list is looking.

Whatever the temperature at the decided location, some of the outfield players will still sport gloves no doubt.

Well, it is actually quite cloudy today in Dubai. It even rained in some parts of town this morning...

The certainly don’t when in Liverpool. They use the Raddison Blu in Old Hall Street opposite my office. As do most teams, including our U18s last week.

The timing, coming on the back of a season ticket price increase isn't great PR.

Having said that, if we win the next league game it can be justified as a good decision. If not, then the club can probably expect some flak ... (or at least some message board grumbling)

That wont alter, they still moan on here when they win !

Surprisingly there have been no , afaik , further images/stories published by players on social from Marbella since those from Jose/Beram on day one.
(there were quite a few daily from the pre-season get together)

Two of the Albion's players ran past me yesterday as they approached I asked "Marbella you two got left behind then" to which I received no response

I will stand alone and say its a good thing! It feels unpalatable to us as supporters, because it is so at odds with our norms. If you're looking for things to change, then a change in environment can hep break normal patterns, normal thinking and a break from normal performance. How much you're paid, however good the normal environment is for work, doesn't make you immune to the impact that simple routine can have. A chance for the team to be together in a different environment, under different circumstances may help strengthen the team ethic, one of our strengths in recent years I would suggest. Not so different than a pre-season training camp in the sun?

Completely agree with you except for 'so at odds with our norms' - I bet hardly any of those whinging about it go 9 months at work without any kind of a break from 'normality'.

This. Classic opportunity for team building. What often happens when results are poor? Little niggles between players start and before you know it, you get factions blaming each other when things don't go well. As tippedly top as Lancing is as a facility (I understand), the players will arrive separately and at the end of the session head off to their respective homes. Going away somewhere en masse will ensure they socialise together - it won't be just on the pitch.

Completely agree. Too many people believe once you become a professional footballer you are no longer human.

Good chance for the likes of Stephens and Duffy to enjoy some beverages in the sunshine. Warm weather pi$$ in my eyes!
They should be sent to Bognor Regis based on their current form...!! Give them boot camp conditions for a few days, that will get them ready for their relegation battle!
Siberia for me. Let them earn their salt, literally.
