Been thinking it looks rather good: does this make me a geek?

And has anybody else seen the show before?

Following a hugely successful and critically acclaimed sell-out UK tour in 2006, the award-winning Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds – Live on Stage! returns to The Brighton Centre on 19th December, 2007.

Jeff Wayne will be conducting The 10-piece Black Smoke Band and the 46-piece ULLAdubULLA Strings. Moody Blues’ Justin Hayward returns to reprise once more his role as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist. The show also features Guest Artistes John Payne (former lead singer of rock band Asia) playing Parson Nathaniel, Sinéad Quinn (Fame Academy) as Beth, Parson Nathaniel’s wife, and Alexis James (Les Miserables) portraying The Artilleryman. Manfred Mann’s Chris Thompson will be returning on stage as The Voice of Humanity.

UK fans and media alike were astounded by the groundbreaking technology featured in the 2006 production, but the 2007 show (which will INVADE not only the UK but also Australia and New Zealand this year) will be even bigger and better! World First 3D Holography will be unveiled as Richard Burton appears in sight and sound as George Herbert, The Journalist in the form of an 11 foot high 3D photo-real Hologram.

Other impressive ingredients will include a 3 tonne, 30 foot high Martian Fighting Machine firing Heat Rays at the audience and scanning them with its bug-like eyes and 100 foot wide by 20 foot high screen projecting CGI-animation throughout the entire show. Surround Sound and other special effects will heighten the audience’s experience even more.

disagree, i thought it was a rip off tbh. there's only a couple of good tunes on the album and the whole show was naff. i'd recommend picking up cheap tix only from ebay nearer the time.

Bought the album when it first came out.
Bought it on tape for my mum when I moved out, as she loved it.
Bought it on CD as soon as I had a CD player.

One of my favourite albums.

I missed the stage show last time, but got in early this year and have had my tickets for several months.

The show is on what would have been my mum's 81st birthday.

Can't wait.

Looks good but would blow my football budget out of the water.

Edna, were you on duty at Gillingham today?

Must have changed the schedule today then as I didn't think we had any female officers up there.

I was spared the delights of Gillingham on this occasion, though still rather have been at the game than working ;)

Borrowed the CD a few years back and really enjoyed it. I think ive still got the tape of the 1930's war of the world hoax from an american radio station.

The 2005 film is so so poor when you compare it to the the other forms of the story!
