Time Dick Tight slung his hook and took Adams with him

Wilkins was the man.

Knight has made a massive misjudgement i said it when he sacked Wilkins and i will say it again.

Thanks for saving the club Dick but you must let go now - you have slit your own throat on this one - what goes around comes around.

So many POINTS DROPPED with a BETTER squad than Wilkins had.,

Think that should read....." so many POINTS DROPPED with a BETTER squad than Dick Knight would allow Wilkins to have."

Just to keep things in perspective here, after all we have only played 12 games. As records go after 12 games:

Adams

W - 5
D - 5
L - 2

Wilkins

W - 5
D - 2
L - 5

So where's all this Adams out and Wilkins was a better manager nonsense coming from?

We did at least play a mixed tactic of crosses at the RIGHT opportunity, and passes along the ground for the rest of the time.
That worked to get us goals - but NO tactic of ours will account for HOW EASY it was for the opposition to stroll forward, get into the box and score in the final minute of e.t.
That's NOT the subs, that was our defence that was already on the pitch.

Why anyone raves about Elphick I just cannot understand.

Look EFE, no-one gives a flying one about cup games right now - we KNOW what a brilliant cup run did for us back in 1983.
We might even fill the stands for a few choice moneyspinners - but when a thousand happy punters come in for the next league game and we chuck another few points away, those newbies shrug us off as a one-match wonder.

I can't say it was even a 'bad' game today, as 6 good goals going in (with no penalties) has been somewhat entertaining.
HOWEVER - we played a side who look 2nd Division standard and looked about the same level as them. So, we will be finding our true level pretty bloody quickly at this rate.

And the record of Adams for taking 2 seasons before, to get us winning division championships with a mercurially talented find, doesn't hold any water with me.

The home form is shocking, bar the City match.

I think we've got more quality in this present squad than for many seasons and it should not have been beyond us to beat Cheltenham or get something against 9 man Walsall.

This whole Virgo business is getting embarrassing. It seems Adams will play him anywhere to give him a game. We need to play him in his best position of centre back along with Elphick and stop messing around.

I Haven't slagged off Adams as i respect the Guy as a Manager to a certain Level.

How ever Wilkins had real potential to go higher and was probably a lot cheaper.

What i do know is there really was no need to sack Wilkins.

There is only one Person to blame for that.

I believe we would be doing better than this if Dean had been in charge without all the extra loans.

knight will only leave this club in a coffin

I agree he is not a quitter but he would get back some lost respect back from me if he did leave or admit he was wrong to tinker with the management.

I wasn't telling anyone in particular, just a general statement to anybody saying either Adam's should go or WIlkins was better.

No there wasn't any need to sack Wilkins, but it wasn't felt he was a good enough manager, tactically, man-management, press, praise, motivation, contacts, weak, and to a certain extent Wilkins lost the respect of some players. I could go on.

Everybody sits and chats on this messageboard and no-one knows what goes on, I'm sure Knight had his reasons for the sacking, and the point is Adams is our manager and has only been in charge for 12 games so should be given time.

That's his job?? If he doesn't think the right man's in charge, he's going to do something about it.

Surely the customers would soon let Dick know as they did mcGhee.

He just wanted Mickey and was looking for any excuse IMO.
