Has anyone been thinking how dodgey Wallsall being called off is? During the week they were confident that the game would go ahead, and then it's called off on Sat and spookily they sack their manager partly because of their poor home record. Just a thought!!

Nope, drove past there on Friday night and not only did my wing mirror completely freeze, but so too did the water INSIDE my van... that's cold.

We were in Birmingham at 10.30am on Saturday and it was not that cold, there was no frost or ice anywhere on the ground. The grass outside St Phillips church was a little hard, but it could have been played.

On the train up until about Rugby, everything was white, iced over or under snow, but then the closer we got to Birmingham, everything was green or muddy with no sign of the white stuff anywhere

Came could have gone ahead, but its probably a blessing as the team we would have fielded could have been interesting

I was in Walsall on Saturday, having travelled up on Friday night. We stayed about a 10 minute walk from the ground.
Everything was very white at 10am when the inspection took place, but it wasn't cold. I was at the ground at 3pm and am convinced the game could have been played.
TWOCHOICEStom, are you sure it was Walsall's ground you drove past? When we arrived in Walsall at 10pm on Friday, the air temperature was -2, but there was no frost at that time and there was certainly no sign of the water in the car freezing.

I had an idea that it had been called off when I noticed half a dozen Albion players running along the back road at Sussex University by the Swan at 1000 on Saturday.

BTW. I went there to complete a bit of studiing at the Brighton site, now I know students allegedly get up in the afternoon, but the libary not opening untill 12.30 then shutting at half four is a joke. Thank heavens for our own libary in the town.

I was on the M23 on Friday, near Gatwick at 5:30 and passed the team bus heading North. Goodness knows how the half dozen Albion players got there that quickly...

really disappointing.
back for a short stay and was looking forward to the match - weather in bewdley certainly seemed good enough for a game to go ahead.

interesting that argus says mayo would have been on the bench so guess we are looking at whing on the left with virgo at right back. Still think kerry can do the job better than having 2 players out of position.

back in the uk for good soon so hopefully will get to watch our heroic fight against relegation with a patched up squad although if we can keep fleetwood (and actually play him consistantly just behind the front two) we should be safe
