They have a "Volkfest" just up the road from me here in Somerset this weekend. I've never seen so many campers and beetles driving by, as well as all sorts of other VW's. Very sociable vehicles.

I've just bought a VW Eos which is apparently a classic in the making.

73 Bay camper on a very long restoration project ,so if you have any tips on engine running and cheap panels

I've just bought a VW Eos which is apparently a classic in the making.

classic my arse. only the air coolers and possibly the mk1 golf can be considered classics.

my first car was a type3 and ive owned a Karmann Ghia. Currently in a nice sensible GTI 16v but waiting for the day i have a driveway/garage i can do a buggy or nice custom type3 or a build a kick arse 2 litre lump to put in a nice family bus. maintenance costs are only high if get one that needs lots of work, loads are in good nick or have had the work done.

Hasn't Jamie Oliver got a rather nice one...with Porsche engine and uprated handling. Well it would have to because they steer like a boat from my experience.

HELL YER used to race VDubs with the VWDRC for about 10 years, and up to Christmas time had always owned an air cooled car, since I passed my test

The missis does own a 'new' Beetle though so we still get to BUG JAM each year

Yeah, his has got a 2.4 Porsche engine, although he sold / auctioned it last month

Went to bug jam 2 years ago but didnt like the mini motos buzzing around all night .didnt bother me but the misses wasnt to chuffed with little ones and all that.Plus the fact i didnt come back from the carwash till 4am but i left at 12 lost 4 hours ..........................
