Despise Britain, vote BNP; love Britain, never vote BNP.

Very noble. However there are millions of people less fortunate than you who still choose to read the Sun. The Sun will find a muslim cleric who hates this country and has twenty people following him. They will then turn him in to one of the most well known faces in the country and drop strong hints that all muslims are the same. Thousands of Sun readers will then start voting for the BNP because, as far as they are concerned, they'll sort it all out. They won't bother looking into the BNP's murkier side, just assume that they'll stop immigration, and with it muslim fanatics who tarnish their religion so much.

Or, because I don't agree with you, I could be like Man of Harveys and tell you to f*** yourself and your family. Because thats the way its dealt with in playgrounds.

As much as I loathe The Sun, it did have a recent front page all about the BNP which laid into them.

What point are you trying to make exactly? I still can't figure it out...

This thread has to be the worst advert the BNP could have ever had. Every single one of the posters on here who have had admitted to voting BNP - or having sympathies with their policies - appears to be deeply, intensely stupid.

Some of the spelling and grammar displayed by Oceanic (not to mention the endless contradictions in his arguments) defy belief given that he is supposedly a grown adult - albeit a constantly dribbling one.

I won't go into all the good that immigrants have done for this country, because we'd be here all day but I will ask you this:

Has anyone on this thread ever been a victim of crime at the hands of an illegal asylum seeker? Has anyone on this thread been passed over for a job that an asylum seeker got? Honestly? Truthfully?

I spent three years in Stoke on Trent as a student, living in the middle of a huge, and very poor, Bangladeshi community and never once had any trouble. The only time I felt really threatened was the day I spent in Burslem (the borough of Stoke where Port Vale play) watching the Albion - a huge, racist mass of vile caucasian bigots with not an Asian face in sight.

That people are dismissing the BNP as no hopers when at the next election there will be considerable support for them.

0.7% at the last election.
Dont forget they increased their vote from under 50,000 in 2001 to nearly 200,000 at the last election. I would not be surprised to see around the 600,000 mark at the next election. In no way am I a BNP supporter but people are dismissing them far to easily. They are sure to nick at least a couple of seats next time round then maybe whoever wins might take some notice and address some of the issues that really concern the public.

But we've seen all this before. Just take a look at British electoral history, the far right vote allows grows when frustration and bitterness with the betrayals of the Labour Party is at its height. Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists acheived its best electoral success in the wake of the bitterness over the collapse of Ramsey McDonald's Labour government in the early 1930s. Similarly, the National Front had its high point during the Wilson/Callaghan Labour governments of the 1970s, when it won high levels of support in areas like Leicester, Birmingham, Ilford and for some reason Bournemouth.

A far right reaction against the betrayals of Blair is only to be expected, because that poison of racism and reaction has always existed in British working class politics for the last hundred years and every now and then it will show its ugly face.

The picture of recent BNP success if actually far more mixed than you state. They did well in certain areas like Barking & Dagenham but had no similar breakthrough elsewhere, despite boasting of them, and in fact in some areas like Calderdale they lost seats. The Greens are doing much better as a fourth party force than the BNP, winning a far greater number of votes and councillors, but under our current electoral system, they will not win parliamentary seats, and neither will the BNP.

The anti-fascist movement will mobilise and respond to the BNP in exactly the way it did to the National Front a generation earlier, and the outcome will be the same.

Well, we smashed the Nazis off the streets at Lewisham in 1977, carried on doing it in the 80s and 90s so they changed tack, dropped the DMs, put on suits, got a couple of old blokes called Vernon to stand for them and some people are fooled. I can assure everyone here that Mr Griffin has as big a problem with his right arm as Mr Tyndall and Mr Moseley before that, and the thugs who surround him
are the same ones who did in the 80s and 90s. They will never get anywhere.

Quite possibly, but you should have a look at some of the Sun's coverage of the BNP, you might be surprised, it's pretty vicious.

But I wonder if your are not falling into the opposite trap of exaggerating their current achievements and prospects. For example, what national opinion poll has been published that shows them make any real dent on the national scene? Compared to some racist movements on the Continent, like Le Pen's lot or far right parties in Austria or Italy, the BNP really are small fry.

The funny thing about the BNP (and those who "claim" to support it) is that beyond the race issue, some of their policies are not "right wing" at all, far from it.

Opposition to free trade, worker ownership schemes, re-nationalisation etc..

I understand they even have a scheme to PAY single mothers to stay at home (on top of the billions it would cost to repatriate millions)

There you go - the BNP Tax bombshell !

My point being that those who claim to "support" them and criticise their opponents as "lefties" have absolutely no conception of what the BNP are about beyond the fact that they don't like the non whites very much.

In fact anyone who claims to support them (even going to the extent of using their logo as their avatar) and then "ironically" signs his posts off with a support for Israel hasn't really got a clue about the BNP

Its actually quite funny.

So is this thread about hanging people to make the trains run on time or about getting a Nick Griffin Sculpture as a war memorial?

Way out west
Pretty much, it rapidly descended into an argument between the extreme right and moderate left about their vision for Britain and its people, nothing new there!

You call the likes of LI moderate left? Do you also call a dish washer a Tortoise?

Looks like most the posters here squat on half a pound of butter just before lights out at the local jail so they can make it through the night. I dont care, I got bored after 2 solid pages of the anul unthinking drivel that passes for entertainment and at least half of youse lives these days.

Camaren will see off the BNP like Thatcher f***ed over the NF, the unions, the GLC, old labour, argentinian facists etc.

The oiley creep has got a lot to live up to, lets hope the Brown fool calls a snap election when he gets in next year so Oiley can get to work on the BBC for starters.

One queston Mr Oceanic.

Everyone, in you opinion, seems to be either a BNP supporter or a leftie.

Whatever happened to those damn moderate people who probably represent about 75% pf the country?
