Good luck to him -a true Albion hero

I think it is wrong for him to stand for a political party.
Although he has done a good job for the Albion, he does stand alongside the rich and elite of the city and who knows what selective favours and influence he will add.

Who was the last Albion man involved in politics?
Aside from the fact that the second sentence makes no sense whatever, why on earth shouldn't he stand for a political party? I think he'd be a very useful addition to the council.
Being a capitalist and in the Labour party is a bit of a contradiction. It was also the under the Labour Party that any financial gain from selling the Goldstone didn’t work in the clubs favour. Yes Prescot gave the thumbs up for Falmer but the local Labour council at the time had limp wrists over the Goldstone.

It was Conservative-controlled Hove Council that failed to protect the Goldstone or indeed to do much at all for the Albion. I say this as a Conservative voter.
The Labour party in the combined Brighton & Hove council were very much in favour of Falmer from 2002 onwards when we sought planning permission. As has been pointed out, it was Hove council run by Conservatives at the time of the Goldstone sale.
There are going to parachute him into a 'as safe a seat as is possible'
