Vokes on for CMS?

It's interesting to see how they will fit into the system Gus likes. You can only really see CMS getting pushed out wider which again isn't going to be his natural game. Although I suppose if Vokes drops deep to get the ball, it'll open space for him to run in behind.

I think Gus took the decision to put on Vokes as we were firing balls into the box, and Barnes was doing a lot of good defensive work so couldn't have taken him off.

it worked though and he bought toby on at the same time - we had our best spell of the game once CMS was off the pitch the last 20 mins i thought we were excellent - thats a fact - just saying.

Don't think CMS could complain at being subbed really - thought it was one of his quietest games overall.

Worrying tho !!! I am a huge CMS fan but you are right. Our best spell was when he was retired to the bench !

He had one chance near post with a tap in. Vokes looks good in the air, big guy but good control and technique. He snatched a shot way over. Calderons shot was a cracker, almost beat Speroni

Yet we turned down Reading's offer to make a quick profit on CMS. Makes you wonder what Gus' plan is?

i am not football pundit - but everyone says we arent using CMS correctly eg lone striker with his back to the goal. Unless Gus plans to change and play 442 and see if vokes and cms can work together and get CMS to use space created by a strike partner and run on to stuff or may be 433 with cms vokes and buckley??

I have no idea but vokes brings some more options in my opinion and whenever toby has played i have been impressed although sorry to see hoskins go out on loan. Its confusing - glad i am not gus poyet lol

Vokes could have been an instant Albion hero last night just after coming on. Great chance, terrible finish. Lets put that one down to ring rust and lack of match action. He is not a one man striker though Gus, he record tells you that.

He does see this you absolute PLONKER. Have you not noticed how he has spent the last 6 months looking for someone to PLAY WITH CMS and now he has signed SAM VOKES to PLAY WITH CMS

CMS game is not a lone striker or back to the goal - how gus doesn't see this is beyond me.

I know, i mean Gus is useless! Its not like we have a chance of getting in the playoffs to the Premier league is it? Get a grip, honestly!

disagree - painter hardly played in a 442, and nor was vokes last night......nor has barnes et al played in a 442 with him.

must admit though, those big sized words are scary, and do ppl still use the word plonker?
