Its so defensive though, we shouldn't be playing that sort of formation at home in a game we expect to win. Shove Robinson up top in that case and give Forster some help up there!

Wrong. It's defensive if you have the two wide players as 'defensive players'. We played this under Micky for about 30 games in Div 3 title winning season, and rolled teams over quite comfortably.

Ok so would you play Robinson up front then? Hart IS too slow for the midfield i will say that.

Would not have Robinson near the first team. We should either be paying him up or loaning him to Lewes.

Hart is no slower than say Fraser or Westlake and both have played in the wide positions at times.

I would put Virgo up front, if Livermore is fit, then put him in the centre of midfield. Otherwise if Dixon is fit put him up front.

Otherwise put Virgo up front and play Fraser in midfield.

Indeed. We had Zamora though and he was good enough to be TWO strikers. That formation wont win games for us at this level IMO.

In my opinion, Hart is no longer up to it up front. He will try his best, but I would like to think there is now a bit more quality control with the team selection rather than picking him because he 'loves the club' or 'will give 110%'. If we signed someone with the ability of Hart the striker, people would be disappointed, that is a fact.

Yes, agreed.

Forster can play that role on his own, seen him do it enough times for Reading and Birmingham..

If you need add maybe Jake (I know not really good enough), and Cox as the wide players, there's plenty of pace and creativity (well in Cox anyway).

I'd give Robinson one last chance, if he doesn't take it I'd farm him out. Time for him to start fulfilling the potential. I don't mean he has to be MOM, just that he needs to be on his game for the full 90 or until he is subbed.

I like Jakey but he's so often a big disappointment or just plain spasmodic.

Whatever the temporary solution, we need a third striker that is capable of chipping in with 10-15 goals this season as it is too much to ask Forster and Murray to play 50+ games. I don't think we have one of those at the moment.

at the moment i'd be happy having a first choice striker who can chip in with 10-15 goals.

So Hart can't cover the midfield if Virgo is moved, or play up front. What was the point of re-signing him then?

I think it's a case of getting as many of our best players involved as fitness will allow, and making sure the ones who will fail are kept off the pitch. So, I'd be looking to get Lynch and Livermore in the team rather than resort to Fraser and Hart, and then just move the players round to fill the positions. Would end up looking something like:

Michel

Whing Elphick Colin Lynch/Richards

Cox Thomson Livermore McLeod/Richards

Forster Virgo

McLeod and Livermore are both unfit.
