Everything depends on condition of vinyl and sleeve...at a guess at average condition - 40 quid.

Hmm, and where might you suggest best to sell? Go to an online dealer, eBay, local shop maybe. I only want a fair price for them, I acknowledge some are quite collectible and some are worth nothing. They are all in decent condition, scratch free vinyl and sleeves all tidy original [maybe one ore two sleeves showing marks / wear.

Sorry Mowgli37 - I want to sell as job lot or I'll only get left with the unsellable if I start to split.

Go to http://www.discogs.com/ I think there aren't bigger places for vinyls,if you don't count e bay and such things. Register, and find some vinyls you have and check prices according to conditions of your vinyls. There is no way you can sell everything you have together, you'll have to sell record by record.

For example,I checked "Got to be There - Michael Jackson" record you have, and there are many people selling it there, and cheapest price is 3 euros, and goes to 35. Good thing is that you can see how many people want some record,so according to that you can see if you have something and sell it there. Just make sure to enable "statistics" option, its on the middle right part of screen,so you can see how many people have or want some record,or ratings for records etc. For this Michael Jackson record there are 650 people that wants it.

Don't sell your vinyls cheap, especially if they are in good condition,I am not saying to ask 100 euros/pounds for every record, but don't sell it for few bucks. Its ok if its some record that everyone have, not difficult to get etc,but some rare records are worth fortune, and there will always be buyers for it,vinyl will never die.

Apart from DJ types, does anyone still choose vinyl over CD or digital these days? And I presume no one buys cassettes any more.

I'm being tempted as a fair number of new albums are being released in wax, and most seem to come with a CD or download thrown in.

Me ...regularly @ gigs and on radio ....vinyl til i die

I see cds as inferior format. That's because they really are.

I download mp3s to my android, but digital sound pales compared to vinyl - so if the music is really quality, I buy it on record.

Vinyl is king!

Boring By Sea
I was burgled one Christmas about twenty years ago. All my vinyl lps and singles were stolen- a huge number and I have not really got over it. The money came through on the insurance and having a young family I used it 'sensibly' as a deposit for a new home. (Things were much cheaper in those days). About a month ago, and with a bit more surplus cash I thought about attempting to re stock as many of the records I had in vinyl format. So far I have three albums and a twelve inch single. Early days and nothing to play them on but determined to see this through. I feel it may be expensive to do. Anyone recommend good places to purchase from? I notice there is a fair at the Brighton Centre in February.

After 31 years use of my Technics deck, last year I treated myself to a new Rega RP1 deck from Audio T.

Never gave up entirely on playing my records, but having the new deck has rekindled the interest. The Rega gives a lovely clean sound.

I still have my records from childhood and later, all in good condition.

The Rega cost just £230, and simply plugs into the Yamaha amp, using the same leads & plugs as years ago - simple as that, nothing's changed!
