I cannot believe how little common sense has been shown by a club the size of Aston Villa. They have a stadium which holds 42,000. It is very unlikely with the number of home games they have coming up that 36,000 fans will want to see their reserves against a third tier team. So why not release 6k tickets, but set another block of tickets aside and then monitor home and away ticket sales. If Villa fans want all 36k then let them have tickets for the the set aside area. If it's obvious with a week to go that home demand is not high then release some more tickets to us, having sold out the initial allocation.
It is obviously very easy to buy tickets online in the Villa areas with no restriction on being sent BN post codes. So all that will happen is that there will be another thousand plus Albion fans mixed in with the Villa fans. Hopefully everyone will get along OK but surely it's a situation that could have been avoided.
