He's definitely playing the best tennis at the moment.

Murray absolutely wiped the floor with him today. Some of his tennis was AWESOME, Federer-esque even. The way he BLITZED passed Troicki with his serving game was something special - ace after ace after ace.

Didn't used to be too keen on him, but he's growing on me now. At least he shows a bit of passion, unlike any Brit in recent years

I think this could seriously be his year.

I don't get it. Why would you want a player, against whose name will appear the letters 'GB' on the scoreboard, and who has described himself as very proud to play for Britain in the Davis Cup, to lose? Are you one of these self-hating Brits I hear so much about from the rightwingers on this board?

Did he not once turn up at a tournament match draped with a flag of whatever country England were playing in the World Cup/Euro Champs? Talk about a sour and bitter man. He never apologised, he is a sad man, and as a British person he should not have done that. But then again, when it comes to it, I am sure he says he is Scottish, and good luck to him for that (woe be tied anyone who says "I'm English").

I hope he loses the next round.

He did that as an off the cuff remark as a teenager from Scotland. Ask any random teenager in Scotland which national team they support and they'll answer in a flash a) Scotland and b)Whoever England's opponents are. If you're going to use that as a stick to beat him with forevermore, then sorry Phil, with respect but its yourself who comes across as sour and bitter. Personally I doubt Andy Murray even considers himself British nowadays, he's that focussed. Which undoubtedly helps him rise above this Wimbledon hype bullshit. He's playing for himself and his position in the world rankings. Very much doubt he's thinking far beyond that.

Did he? Or was it a shirt? Or was it just a throwaway comment which was a joke? Each time this story gets told it gets embellished.
