Just started watch the BBC Vigil tv series on catch up - the pulling down of the fishing boat was very close to home. In 1985 the Mhairi-L out of Kirkcudbright sank in calm weather killing all the crew of 5 with no distress signal. It is expected in my home town that she was pulled under by a submarine killing the crew of 5. Despite numerous requests the navy denies any wrong doing to this day. In the tv series the fishing boat is called the Mharia Fenna. 3 days after the Mhairi-L was sunk HMS Vigilant which had headed out on manoeuvres returned to Faslane for repairs.

Sounds too much of a coincidence on the tv series HMS Vigil vs HMS Vigilant and Mharia Fennia vs Mhaira-L. Sounds like writers did their research

Close to home to me as my Dad had been working on the boats - so there by the grace of god. There is a statue to the 5 men at Kirkcudbright Harbour
