Hi all

Great day on the bus with the players. I was recording audio from the day and interviewing players for the official podcast. Felt a little embarrassed to be up there as I swear I heard a few people point at me and go 'who the f*ck is he?' so I waved my microphone extra theatrically so it was clear I was not in any way football proficient.

The players were in a cracking mood; for some of these guys it was genuinely their biggest moment of career glory, and it was an honour to be amongst them as they experienced it.

Memories of it in a nutshell...

The mayor congratulating the players for their promotion to the 'Champions League' and call Gus 'God Poyet' (I'd go with that)
The 'Alan Navarro' song the players kept launching into
Getting to the bottom of 3rd avenue waiting to turn left with only one fan on the corner (cue some players "20,000? Where the f*ck are they?")
Some slightly sexist though good-natured 'nork spotting' (including some fan-inspired banter directed at a particularly comely lady on the balcony of the Grand Hotel)
All the players taking pictures of this guy's massive tash on Hove lawns (it was 'fantashtic' <-- Jimmy Mac)
All the songs aimed at the players - Nooney v popular, along with Calderon, and a few choruses of 'Sign him up!' at Glen that left him even shier than usual (he did enjoy himself though)
Tano starting the 'championes'! cries at bemused passers-by on the way back who had no idea who we were or what was going on
Falling forward when the bus stopped suddenly and landing on Murray's head. (oops)
Falling backwards when the bus started suddenly and landing on Murray's FOOT. (ffs! oops*2)

...and obviously Gus's rendition of 'We're f***ing brilliant'.

OK, sorry but once I uploaded my pics to facebook I thought I could copy them here and I couldn't. They're on my 'page' so free for everyone to view, but not inline here - sorry again.

That's all very well, but I don't come onto a football forum to see pictures of footballers and fans.

Where's the pic of the above mentioned comely lady?

Lovely stuff, thanks. Is that last picture the players abusing a traffic warden?

Yeah. It was hilarious - as we got back to Hove Town Hall, the traffic warden was ticketing a car (which may or may not have been a club staff member's car). They started singing, "Give him a break! Give him a break!". And other less polite stuff. Even the policeman opposite was laughing. Traffic Warden didn't even look up.
