A reminder: This site is watched closely by detractors of the Albion's plans. We have a long history of well-informed, passionate and good-humoured campaigning that is free from threats and intimidation of those with differing views. It is VERY important we retain this approach.

The fish eye lens on the first one is making me feel a little seasick.

The first video is actually quite interesting, and some valid points are made. I have every confidence that the majority of these points will be taken into consideration by the club, in the same way that many of the concerns about the Amex were taken into account and worked around following permission being given for the Amex to be built.

Not meaning to be dismissive, but it does almost look like an ideal place to build a training ground. I love the fact that there will be a 3G pitch available for community use - I use the 3G pitch at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre - it is fantastic for 'normal' people to use these top spec facilities.

I'm sure a lot of the concerns can be managed in the right way.

Having watched the first one I'm not really sure what point he thinks he's making other than providing a pretty informative walk-through the site.

Yes, a lane will run next to the houses but that's probably preferable to having other new houses jammed up against them which would be the likely alternative. Otherwise, it shows the site to be a clear grassy/scrubby space that lends itself to the proposed use.

Best comment: "the area will be flattened" - it is flat already!

800 cars a day? I know our squad is big but come on!

The public kept out of the public pitches? We should let them just have a 24hour Asda superstore then screw it. Let him mark that out.

Wouldn't a new housing estate have used Mash Barn Lane as the main access road too ? Given a choice between a training academy and 2,000 new dwellings what would you decide is the better option ?

About that first video, if the car park only holds 300 cars surely 800 cars a day is a massive over estimation of the amount of traffic.

Even if that is correct, I wonder how many people live near a road carrying that amout of traffic, quite alot I'd guess. They're making out as if it's the end of the world when really disruption will be minimal by most people's standards

Had an email at work from Buckingham Group inviting us to tender for the new BHA training facility. A little ahead of themselves or is that normal procedure?

800 cars over the time the facility will operate each day given the 11pm finish on the community pitch will be less than a car per minute. Hardly the M1 is it?

Pork pie land.
It looks ideal to me. The scrub land is currently an eyesore, and with all that cheap housing around there should be no shortage of people to do the cleaning, cutting grass, making teas etc.!

First one 5 minutes of a man walking around on scrub land on a sunny day. The site is regularly used by dog walkers, horse riders and mountain bikers. None of which can be seen, nor is there any sign of them having been there. We are informed that if the plan goes ahead cars will pass nearby houses, which unless Jara Reyes is driving, is hardly a terrifying prospect. This is looking more and more like a non-issue. They should really see http://www.sheepcote.org.uk/ for how to do it properly.

The assumption is that each space will be used 3 times during the course of the day , the amount of road traffic will go up massively to what it is at present due to the fact that the residents made their own blockades to stop any vehicles using it.

Sounds realistic to me. If we assume that all of this traffic is between 9am and 5pm (which we know won't be the case), that would equate to roughly 1.5 cars per minute. In reality there will be a few pinch times (players arriving for training, players leaving training, youngsters arriving after school and people hiring pitches in the evening) where the traffic will be higher, with traffic being generally low for the rest of the day. I'm sure NSC has a resident travel expert that will be able to either confirm this, or tell me I am talking rubbish.
