Nice one. I recall their lot steaming through the tunnel past the bus station after the game. They weren't best pleased. :flounce:

Bring back some very good memories, the style of football back then was rather good too.

Amazing when you look at the teamsheet for United, pretty much each and every one of them a household name, and for Brighton, perhaps Wardy, Foster, anyone else?

For then perhaps? Would be League 2/BSP standard now.

My first ever Brighton game. Went with my Dad as a very excited 7 year old. Now 30 years on the Amex has meant me and my Dad can go to games together again and we are both looking forward to the day in a few years time when my kids will be able to attend games (they are too young and don't have the attention span yet)

how aggressive was Norman Whiteside

Whiteside was the first player I ever really hated and I so wanted his career to be ended in the way he threatened others with his thuggish aggressiveness.

Allegedly , Stevie Coppell wasn't very happy that day after the doctor told him on the team bus he was carrying a sexually transmitted disease.

I've been on your site atleast once a week to watch a different video, thanks for the upload and maintaining the website!

Thank you. I've got a fresh batch of vids that I will add soon... including some matches from our late and very great escape in 1980/81.

Even at the tender age of 17 Whiteside was a cowardly thug.

Was there... back in the days when I'd cycle to games from Steyning.

Noticeable how less athletic footballers were in those days, but some good possession football there from the Seagulls.

Great atmosphere I remember from a crowd of 18 thousand. Seems a lot a lot different now with comfy seats and a view of the action (unlike when you're jostling for one in the West/North corner of the Goldstone as a teenager!).
