Agree with this. The Vicente thing is a little different. He feels like ours and to lose him would be the biggest blow. If he goes though I among many will have the abiding memory of being there for that run and shot against Derby and we'll just have to take that as a souvenir.

As I've said all along with Vicente, whether it was his injuries, or now his contract ..... always work on the basis that we've seen the last of him, and saviour any moments you do get to see him in the stripes. That way you enjoy the moment, and don't get hurt by any disappointments.

It is amazing on these boards that on one thread we are able to self righteously (and not altogether wrongly) criticise Pompey fans for not questioning the big signings when they came in, and the buying of lots of players, and on the other create this environment of pressure on other threads where it is all doom and gloom if we don't make lots of signings.

We need a few players of course, but there seems to be hysteria that we haven't signed anyone and the bloody fixtures haven't even come out yet, and everyone other than internationals are mostly on their holidays!
