Verona...anyone been?

Im currantly working in Madeira.....and the company I work for, need someone to help out in Verona,Italy...just for a couple of weeks..

Ive put my name forward & hope to be there in the next few weeks...any one been?

Whats it like...eating & nightlife, general vibe....never been to Italy before..so would be great to go..

Yes, but it was about 15 years ago, so can't really give you any tips on places to go. Beautiful place (as all medieval Italian towns are), lots of good eateries, but probably best to avoid the main square (Piazza Bra), as it's expensive. If you can get hold of a copy in Madeira, well worth reading Tim Parks' A Season With Verona. Won't tell you anything about the tourist attractions, but does have the names of a few locals' bars and gives you a good insight into the Veronese mindset and rivalry with other towns.

I'm going to Lake Garda two weeks today and plan on a day trip to Verona and also hopefully an evening visit to see a show in the arena. Will report back if it's not too late for your decision. If I were you I'd go there though, from what I've read it sounds a really nice place.

I should be there the time your there fingers crossed...ill find out next thurday...should be there for a good couple of weeks........wear your albion shirt there! ha ha
