It would seem that our Argentinian red head thing has upped a notch, we've gone full ginger... he does seem to embody the spirit of the angry Celt, with those Gordon Strachan vibes to the fore...

I suspect he'll be fully committed as it were.

Tap in merchant. Completely irrelevant outside of transfer windows. Proper sports journalists must cringe at him.
Proper sports journalists must wonder why he's a) making so much ££ from email subscriptions, podcasts and his flourishing business. b) gets so many scoops c) has better contacts and sources than they do. And perhaps they cringe at him too.

Not to everyone's taste - why would he be ? - and Albion fans especially won't ever get over the Caicedo ins/outs and fair enough- but the idea that he's merely a "tap in merchant" and doesn't have decent stories outside of transfer windows (he does) , or as some on here accuse him of "guesses" really underplays his impact. And implies he's no different to the real scourge of transfer journalism - the plenty of accounts, "experts", that really do make things up. FR, like it or not, is clearly is the place many fans turn to for reliable transfer news - not exactly an easy thing to report on given the parties involved - these days (alongside Sky or the BBC or The Athletic etc ) .

Regarding his new club, Colo stated : "I'm already a Brighton player. It's a totally different kind of football than here. I'll have to adapt, I hope it's quick. I didn't have the opportunity to speak with the coach (Roberto De Zerbi). I did speak with Facu (Buonanotte), who is there. I feel the same in both ways: as I said before, I can do it as a 3 or as a midfielder, So wherever the team and the coach need me, I'm going to do it," he added.
That’s impossible though - according to some super fan experts on here unless it’s announced by the club it’s not a done deal.

Maybe Fab was right eh ;-)

Yup. Romano isn't always going to be "right" (we all know that some transfers get all the way to contract signing day and then get called off for one reason or another), but he's clearly got a good network of contacts he can work for rumours. He won't always be first, but I think that's largely because he doesn't just make things up and hope he gets it right. He's at least waiting for a sniff of something he considers reliable enough to report. Now, what he considers "reliable enough" is clearly at times making him jump earlier than he should, and at others means he's late to the party.

I think, though, what riles a lot of us up is that he's clearly not averse to being "used" in return by agents / clubs who need a helping hand getting a move done. The Caicedo saga, I think, being a case study in exactly that.

Which just means that, as with any source of transfer news, we just need to understand his methods, understand how he sources his material, and judge the reliability of his output off of that. I seem to remember when he first became known here on NSC he was a hero for being a source for one of our transfers in a few years back (was it, ironically, Caicedo again?)
