Valencia Grand Prix

Normally a bit Monaco without the glamour, wonder if DRS will make a difference?

Start should be interesting with Lewis alongside the recently very fast starting Alonso and the sometimes iffy starting Mark Webber in 2nd. Can Lewis resist the urge to try and win the race in the 1st corner and finish a race without having to face a stewards enquiry?

Need Vettell to f-up or breakdown to keep the Championship interesting

Not really one of my favourite GPs, it just looks like they are racing around a dockyard, nothing much inspiring on show other than the racing. I watched a bit of the qualifying yesterday and was hard pushed to work out where the obvious overtaking areas might be. I am not sure where the DRS zone is either, so hard to say what difference it will make. I don't expect the race to be as exciting as Canada, which was exceptional, but even in F1 you never know.

Thanks for that KJP, should certainly make things far more interesting, I am not sure of the value of being able to open the flaps through turn 14 though, will the effect last as far as the run to turn 17?

All they need to do to liven this up is open the swing bridge a few times during the race.

Valencia really is one of the dullest race circuits out there. I found it very strange when they first introduced it as the history of street circuits is that they don't provide over-taking opportunities. We stick with Monaco because of everything that surrounds that event, but the racing is rubbish. So why, when the FIA were doing all they could to improve over-taking did they ever come up with giving the European GP to Valencia and their street circuit?

It has to be said that of all the 'modern' circuits, Valencia is by far the worst. Dreadful track.
It is not Monaco, it is nothing like Monaco - in race excitement, in prestige or even in crashes. Glad to see the back of it. Bernie needs to put Estoril back on the calendar

That was dull central, even with the double DRS zone.

That race was everything that detractors would have you believe Formula 1 is about, an expensive and dull procession

Glad we missed it, racing at Silverstone today was far more enjoyable...even if we've come back with a broken car

Boring boring boring track (like many of the newer ones). Glad I went down the front instead today having seen the "highlights".

However, any petrolheads may want to cheer themselves up by taking a look at HuwSelby.com. Apologies if this little site is already known to you lot.

It is f***ing brilliant, and free. Loads of old BBC Grand Prix highlight programmes from 1970's onwards. Massively enjoyable.
