Rubbish. Johnson was CLEARLY in a bunker. In addition, all the players were told before the tournament that ANY sandy areas were to be treated and played as bunkers.

But the point is, IT IS the rule and all the players knew that. Johnson has no one to blame but himself. But having said that, I am gutted for him. I just wish he had taken his time and thought about where he was before the shot. I'm surprised his caddie didn't notice.

Johnson only has himself to blame, every pro golfer (and hackers) knows you can't ground your club in a bunker. So the fact there are millions of the feckers on this course with specific local rules, he should have known or at least been wary. He actually did it twice! The rule's there to stop people getting a feel of the sand before they play, don't think he was trying to gain an advantage but glad the officials stuck to their guns and invoke the correct rules.
