Last time I saw us away against Wet Sham we were 1-0 up when Steve Gatting lobbed our own frickin keeper from half way up the field and the Shammers went on to win 2-1. The highlight was Ludek Miklosko having just signed for the Hammers being introduced to the crowd at half time and thinking we were vocal home fans turning smiling to us and applauding our deafening chant of "Who the f/ing hell are you? Who the f/ing hell are you?"

I remember a cracking game circa 1990: we lost 2-1 when, I think, Ian Morley scored a winner from them 10 minutes from the end. It had been real end-to-end stuff though and the best losing match I've ever been to. Great atmosphere too: it was the day of a Benn/Eubank fight and there were lots of boxing-related chants.

I went with a Spaniard who was amazed at the pace and the intensity of the game; I know it's a cliche but it was a great advert for English football.

Then when they let us out we were singing "5 Smiling Coppers sitting on a horse" to the mounted police outside. We kept on singing till one of the (female) coppers burst out laughing :D

I remember my boss coming in on the Monday in a foul mood ranting and raving how West Ham should've won by a country mile.

Couldn't help but chuckle.

I went to see West Ham play Middlesbrough a few years ago. The two things I remember were how much better the passing and first touch of premiership players was and the fact that West Ham seem to be supported entirely by short fat bald blokes who like to shout in the general direction of the pitch during the game

Was the most one sided win I've ever witnessed...............caracking day out....went with a mixture of West Ham and Brighton supporters and my West Ham mates very kindly told everyone in the pub after that we were Brighton supporters !!!

Saw West Ham beat Newcastle 9-1 in about 1986. Geordies had goalies sent and carried off and ended up with Peter Beardsley in goal!

Alvin Martin scored a hatrick that night against 3 different keepers. Newcastle's captain that day was Glenn Roeder !!!

I have a dim memory of seeing Charlton vs Brighton there in the early 90's. We lost I think...

But my favourtie West Ham memory (as I wasn't there when Butter's header went in) was Byrne's scuffed shot that Miklosko somehow managed to not get to. Witnessed by me from a packed North Stand at the Goldstone - evening match.

Not albion related this is an Upton Park thread, I had a season ticket there last season so lots of good memories, best one is probably beating the Spuds on the last day of last season!

I went to the game where Mike Small had changed sides, we lost 1-0, i think, and then a lad ran toward me with a stanley knife and i sprinted down the streets of London's many slums to retain my baked potato skin and the nipples of twin baked beanery.

We did. We'd just sold Garry Nelson and he scored after about 60 seconds at our end. :(

On the way home, my dad was done for speeding on the M3. 71.59mph over 0.728 of a mile. Unbelievable. He has the very ticket in a photo album somewhere.

I also went to Upton Park for a ZDS cup match - we lost 2-0. Boring stuff, that one.

Other than a great day out a couple of seasons ago, my other memory of going to West Ham would be from a game agame against spurs during the time that Klinsman was playing. We were in the Bobby Moore stand and all I remember was the West Ham fans keep shouting everytime Klinsman got the ball "kick him, kick him" A whole stand with the combined intelligence of a piece of wood, marvellous.
