We already have a structure where Burke and the scouting team source talent and recommend who to go after. Not much of a change without a manager in place and pretty well the way most clubs work nowadays with the coach more of a final rubber stamp than the main mover/shaker.

Fair point. Bridge could probably have the pick of several Clubs (unless his financial demands are unrealistic). I wouldn't blame him for choosing somewhere else to enjoy his footie if he doesn't fancy the next Albion manager. Hopefully he felt that something very good was going on at The Amex when he came here and will still have faith that there is more to come under a new manager. I can't see Tony Bloom selecting a manager whose style is hoofball.

Really? Why did he sign for them then? Surely it is Stoke who have shown him the door? I would think he is looking for regular first team football, in front of good crowds every week. Something which we can offer with or without Poyet.

This would be a great signing. I can't imaging any incoming manager being displeased with that either.

This is the thing isn't it. Most players signing when our manager situation is unclear would be extremely strange, but I would think the vast majority of potential incoming(or remaining?) managers would be delighted with Upson signing.

Your ability to come back from a goal down is not really determined by your style of play, but that says more about the mentality of individuals in the team. No need to rip up the style of play, but it perhaps needs a couple of players to come in that can fit the system already used but who have that mentality to take a game by the scruff of the neck when the chips are down. All this 'we have no plan B' is just euphemistic speak for the age old Anglo-Saxon mantra of 'if in doubt, chuck it in the mixer for the big man'.

It's pathetic, isn't it. There is genuinely no arguing with him. No doubt he wants a team of only English hoofers who will kick the ball as far as they can whenever they get it. Luckily, Tony Bloom is committed to good football, not hoofball.

As for Upson, would be a great signing. Him and Greer had a great partnership at the end of the season.
