Standing at the bar in the theatre tonight, I found myself standing next to David Mellor (wish I'd been wearing my Kick David Mellor out of Football t-shirt) on one side and Ross Kemp on the other - both in separate groups I hasten to add.

Has anyone seen a more unlikely pair than that in any location?

All's Well that End's Well

Perhaps that's an omen for Falmer.

(also saw Andrew Lloyd Webber in the gents - they were all there tonight).

What about Lizzie Bardsley (scummy sponger from Wife Swap) and James Hewitt.

You don't even need to go to a bar to see those two - just turn on Channel 5! (Assorted oddballs in Back to Reality).

On Christmas Day 2002 I was helping out behind the bar in the Greys having just served a pint of Harveys to Sebastian Coe who had been standing at the bar next to Bod Grover out of the Piranhas.

On a seperate occasion Chip Taylor (John Voigts brother and writer of Wild Thing and Angel (which Shaggy murdered a couple of years ago)) was having a chat after he had played a gig. Simon Bodger of Bodger and Badger fame was also taking part in the conversation afer copius amounts of gin.

My ideal bar companions would be ex-Albion hardman Jimmy Case and the Cheeky Girls - it would all go off!

Not actually in a bar, but walking in that direction. And some years back.

Willie Rushton and David Jacobs. They had a brief, but one-sided conversation.

Rushton:- Oi, Jacobs. f*** off you WANKER!
Jacobs:- er?
