Hope you enjoy your time at my old university. You will have to work blinking hard though, as I presume you are doing the degree over two years instead of three, as I did. You won't find any nightlife either (you'll have to go to Oxford or Milton Keynes for that), but there are some great pubs. I particularly recommend the Whale and the Mitre. Also, if you need books I would suggest going to Oxford and making a day of it, as the bookshop isn't that big. If you want any advice, PM me. What are you studying, by the way?

Kind of expecting it, but I am chuffed if I'm honest. Number 1 in student satisfaction tables 5 years running, best staff to pupil ratio in the country, best future employment record in the country etc. Sounds alright to me.

Every single University claims it's Number 1 in Student Satisfaction.

To be fair, Buckingham does top the only 2 tables i've seen (Guardian Newspaper being one of them).

Cheers mate, that'd be a great help and will definitely bear it in mind. I'm studying Media, Journalism and Communications over the 2 years. Really looking forward to knuckling down and making the most of the opportunity. Would you recommend it as a university? It seems to have good feedback from what I have seen.

I would definitely recommend it, but then I would as I got a First. The one-to-one attention from the staff is second to none, and they operate a tutorial system in addition to the principal lectures, which you MUST go to by the way; you can be excluded from exams if you don't. While saying that you will have to work hard, you will make friends from all over the world (two thirds of the students were from overseas when I was there), and if you don't have a girlfriend when you go you probably will by the time you leave. I met my ex there, who was from China, though sadly we are obviously no longer together (but that's a complicated story). Get some mates together and you can have a great laugh in the Mitre; the landlord gets on very well with students, and if you are set on clubbing, Milton Keynes is only 20 minutes away, with London only a further 40 minutes by train.

Mighty fine choice by yourself and Sir Doug...Gloucestershire is a fantastic county to live in, if you get bored of traipsing round the country (or short on the spends) following the Albion you will be sure of a friendly welcome at the New Lawn.
