will always be the same.

Our best hope at any level is to be lucky enough to have a genuine world class player or 2 who can carry the rest.

Italy play their best available U21 team, only Balotelli and the one with the Egyptian name weren't there. Our team could have included Mcmanaman, Shaw, Townshend and Sterling who all pulled out. Rose and Ince who were suspended. Zaha and Lansbury who were not fit enough. Also players who could have been in the squad but play for the seniors: Wishere, Jones, Welbeck, Rodwell, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walker. In effect yesterdays team were more or less the reserves.
