Of couse a good healthy debate about it is needed, but i still feel that elected MP's should not advocate law breaking

Oh, of course. But then, she hasn't - HB&B completely misrepresented her words. Actually all she's done is call for a rethink on the "war on drugs"

The point that i am trying to make here is that She represents cira 100K of people, and speaks on there behalf accordingly having been democratically elected to do so. In my opinion She should NOT be making these sort of statements, regardless of the rights or wrongs of the subject matter, She should simply be trying to make the area She represents a better place for all that live there.

But she is a member of parliament....so areas and discussions like this a totally within her remit.

I can read between the lines. What she is saying is I have persuaded the old bill to leave my mates alone when they are sitting on the level spliffing up.

If all of the country's laws are exactly right the way the are, we have no need for a government. As said above, it's her job to raise this and all mps should be debating these things all the time. Especially those issues where their own advisors are certain that the status quo is wrong or inadequate.

Do you drink? Why?

If you answered yes to the first question then you have your answer. People take drugs for all sorts of reasons.

You're reading what you want to read behind the lines, just so you can have another pop at Lucas for something she hasn't actually done.

You still haven't provided a single argument why marijuana should be treated more harshly by the law than alcohol. I'm asking you specifically now - can you do so, with an argument that has some level of evidence to support it?

Interesting. Not readaing the whole lot tonight but will try to at some point. My view on drug legalisation has always been to not criminalise posession but keep cirtain aspects of drug use illegal. The message would be "we don't like it but you can do it as long as you don't piss everyone off". The masses would be put off widespead drug abuse and those that relly want to do it would find a way, like they do now, but without the risk of locking up people who are just looking for a buzz or a mind bending experience.

Then criminalise alcohol. It's more addictive AND more dangerous than marijuana.

Nobody has proved that. Heavy use of any substance will f*** you up, I can think of 3 people who have gone mental from smoking weed like normal people smoke fags, in the space of about 10 years. To me they're exactly the same as an alcoholic.

I just lump everyone who does too much in the same category, if the booze and fags didn't get them it would be weed, coke or smack. Just depends what they got exposed to.

Marijuana stinks and smoking is totally unacceptable within the environment nowadays. Good old alchohol drinking is practised within the bastions of Gentlemen’s Clubs and middle class barbeques. But can still be enjoyed in moderation by decent and responsible adults.
