Two defendants blaming each other, the jury told they can only come to a conclusion based on evidence. If forensic evidence is missing, it will be difficult to prove.
Rarely are criminal trials open and shut cases.

Criminal trials have criminal barristers, not human rights lawyers.

Once you get underneath the headline, it’s not a simple truth that poor kids are the fat kids.

It is largely true for white British kids, but for those in our society whose parents/family are relatively recent arrivals from other parts of world the converse is true.

Even recent research into the use of BMI as a measure of obesity has recently indicated children from the sub continent are more proportionately fatter than BMI was indicating compared to their fat African/West Indian peers, a position previously not recognised.

So, it follows that the factors behind why fat white British kids are fat do not correlate to why African kids or Sub continent kids are fat. Some African families see being fat as a measure of wealth and therefore positive, others will change their diet from their cultural subsistence approach to food to the consumption of buckets of fried chicken.

As this country’s demographics change so these cultural factors will no doubt play out more prominently……..so relax it’s not all bad, a country with fat kids is surely better than one with starving kids?
