Cheers mate!! Spurs fans do think that they are a big club but I dont think they are that far wrong, I reckon they are still in the top 6 in England. I like them because of the eyecatching football they played in the 70's and the fact that Glenn Hoddle & then much later Gazza played for them - 2 of the greatest footballers Ive ever had the priviledge to see live.

See I can only base my opinion on what I remember and apart from a few good seasons early ninties, Spurs have achieved nothing in my lifetime. Yet their fans still maintain they're as Big a club as Arsenal or Chelsea.

I can understand that. In the 15 years previous to your birth Spus were although not the most successful team the best one to watch in my opinion. If you ever get to watch an old Spurs game with players like Hoddle in I would take a look - it's great to watch. Mind you the Baddiel & Skinner "old football is crap"slot comes to mind so maybe it wont look so good in this day & age!!

Indeed, UEFA Cup Final 1974 unless I'm mistaken. Spurs fans will be loving this draw.

Give or take one or two upsets the last 8 might look like this:

NEWCASTLE
CSKA MOSCOW
BORDEAUX
SPURS
SEVILLA
PANATHINAIKOS
BENFICA
WERDER BREMEN

You can't go... :p

Tottenham's Uefa Cup away match against Feyenoord could be held behind closed doors because of possible disciplinary action against the Dutch club.

Feyenoord were given a suspended two-match stadium ban after their fans rioted before a game against Nancy.

Picking on the Nancy boys?! Thank goodness we have managed to avoid European football thus far....

feyenoord vs spurs is gonna kick off big time

Well, back in '74...

"A tragic day for Tottenham on and off the field! They are beaten 2-0 at Rotterdam by Feyenoord in the UEFA Cup final, and their so-called 'fans' initiate a riot during the match. 70 of them are arrested and over 200 people hurt in the crush. Spurs chairman, Mr Sydney Wale, broadcasts an appeal before the kick-off, and at half-time Bill Nicholson speaks on the public address system: 'You hooligans are a disgrace to Tottenham Hotspur and a disgrace to England. This is a football game - not a war' . . . "

but a decade later...

19-Oct-83 UEFA 2 (1L) 35,404 H * Feyenoord W 4 - 2 Archibald (2), Galvin (2)
02-Nov-83 UEFA 2 (2L) 45,061 A Feyenoord W 2 - 0 Hughton, Galvin

When Cruyff slagged off Ghoddle beforehand, but was forced to humbly apologise and embrace him after the destruction.

Shame they then knocked us out in 1992...

Our turn again, this time... :)
