Pochettino, widely considered to be one of the best managers in the country, paid £42m for him at the age of 20 and has so far picked him more than 50 times in a team that has been in the top four in each of the last few seasons. If only he could see that his man clearly wouldn’t be able to edge past Dan Burn for a place on the Brighton bench.
