[Albion] U23 and youth players

I see Graham Potter is planning to develop our youth players and our current first team, this clearly is part of the attraction from Tony Bloom and the clubs philosophy of strengthening our U23s and bleed these into the first team.

Question, do you think any of the current U23s will make a Premier League debut this season or next, if so, who?

- edited to next season too.

I suspect Molumby will be the only one to get on the pitch in the PL.

Ben White and Molumby 100% will. Obviously?

Max featured in both this seasons and last seasons friendlies, so Potter clearly sees something in him. I suspect we may be looking to loan him to the Championship though.

There’s clearly a path set for our u23’s to go out and get competitive football on loan and progressively move them up the leagues.

However there are some outliers (eg Connolly).

So if I were to make a bold prediction.. and obviously depends on lots of things. Aside from Molumby and White, I could possibly see one of the following feature.. even if just in the league cup:

- Hayden Roberts, featured in preseason, played vs Villa last year (new Ben White)

- Gwargis (has been scoring regularly for our u23s for a while. Not quite new Connolly who scored a ton, but could get a chance)

- Ben Wilson also looks interesting.

Walton not mentioned, but has a good chance too.

If we look further ahead the likes of Talyor Richards is a possible player with first team aspirations along with Wilson.

Isn’t Walton now 37? More loans than Wonga too. Pointless being at club. He’s not really one of our players. Just stocks and shares. In good company mind. It’s the way modern football is.

A normal year with more transfer activity I think its likely Pröpper or Stephens would have left, leaving a spot for Molumby. As it is now, I think he might get loaned out for another year.

Havent watched the U23 anything at all so cant say much, but its interesting Cochrane is not out on loan yet. He was on the bench four or five times last season so he is obviously not that far away from getting some time on the pitch.

Whilst he probably won’t make his PL debut this season Jenson Weir is one to watch I think. Quite well regarded.

You on a wind-up? Walton is 24 and an England age international with good experience at a high level. Good shot stopper and commanding in the air. If there’s a weakness that casts doubts it’s when he has the ball at his feet which is why he might not break through at the very top level. Young enough to be work in progress though

I thought he looked very nervous when he came on against Chelsea, although he looked very good coming out to take that high ball (until hs unfortunate landing anyway).
Still think he may be overtaken by Sanchez.

I had this dream when Wilkins was in this position. I assume TB was testing the water; unfortunately, Deano didn't have the backup that Potter has had.

I am hoping TB massive investment in the whole setup will seem like a blip when we produce multimillion-pound players and could well keep us financially for a long time.

As a fan, I want to see our products made at home and saving us costs or producing us revenue.

Who would have believed this 20 years ago???

Ps answer to the question, I don't know as I have not seen much of them.
