Just rattled this email off to TalkSport, cos I got SEVERELY wound up by the King and Cas today. Not that they'll give a stuff.

Unbelievable.
Wrexham FC apply to go into administration, the Football League is on the brink of losing one of its League One football clubs because of the scandalous actions of a property developing former chairman, and you and Cas spend a couple of hours prattling on about "what player your team cannot do without" (following on from yesterdays thrilling "what were the best little-known strike partners").

This is a REAL crisis affecting teams outside the Premiership, and a REAL subject to talk about. My own team Brighton have suffered through the actions of its ground being sold for property development - Pat, you've seen the results first hand for yourself, having endured the facilities at our "athletics track" this season. And yet Wrexhams plight barely merits a mention. Bryan Flynn comes on and gets all of TWO MINUTES to dust the surface of the disgraceful goings on at the Racecourse Ground, then he's quickly moved on so we can get back to taking about peoples favourite Premiership players. Give me strength.

The media's complete obsession with the Premiership helps perpetuate the utter apathy within the game when it comes to the fates clubs like Wrexham and Brighton are having to face. Do you not find it obscene that The FA and the Football League stand by and do NOTHING while this happens ? Do you not find it offensive that, with the multi-millions of pounds washing around at the top of the game, Wrexham are going under for the sake of £800k ? It absolutely STINKS. Of course, Man United get 2 or 3 days worth of phone-ins dedicated to them just because some American wants to buy them, but thats par for the course I suppose.

Pat and Cas - instead of messing about with tedious phone-ins about "most important players" and "favourite strike partners", how about dedicating a phone-in to discuss, highlight and tackle the scandal that allows businessmen to asset-strip and destroy a football club. At least thats something WORTH talking about.

From - a fan who is NOT obsessed with just 20 bloody football clubs.

Very true - Talksport are generally fairly good on lower league issues, but this show doesn't really seem to acknowledge that. Not one I tune in for anyway, the previous bloke, Kaufmann was infinetly better.

Cheers OTLW.
I wouldn't joke about Wrexhams situation...just can't see any angle for humour in that one. Poor sods.

Phone them and say you want to talk about Arsenal and then when you're on talk about Wrexham?

And tonights phone in with Ray Houghton ? Favourite wingers. Christ-all-bloody-mighty.

If the media kicked up more of a stink over this kind of thing and actually bothered highlighting it and giving it some decent airtime, perhaps some people in authority at the FA and FL could be EMBARRASSED into taking some action. Its the total media apathy that allows this kind of thing to keep on happening.

Peaceful demonstrations achieve next to nothing. As we know ourselves, you actually need some kind of violent disorder to attract any attention to what is going on at a football club. You can have as many Fans United days as you like, and you'll get, at best, a snippet in the Nationals. Break the crossbar though, and its splashed all over the 6 O'Clock news.

The long and short of it is, if its not happening in the Premiership, nobody in the media gives a flying f***. You'll get paid lip service at best. Pathetic and infuriating.

If I phoned up right now, I'd call someone something I shouldn't. They won't want anyone gatecrashing their next Premiership love-in anyway, I'd be off as soon as I mentioned the "lower leagues".

But the the fans love all 92

Please, Please, Please give the plight of Wrexham some more coverage. Fans United on Saturday. I have a Brighton season ticket but will be at the Racecourse. Stop Ignoring the Real Issues!"

Pissed me off lastnight on the way home from work aswell Easy. Not only was the phone in typically premiership focussed, but even when doing the news and sport Wrexham came right at the end after Bridge is going to play for England, Gerrard came through a reserve game, Yakubu is injured, Wenger's had a haircut etc etc
Email is on it's way.

Thats spot on.

I used to listen to Brazil and Parry in the mornings on Talksport but all they ever talked about every bloody morning was Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd.

Lets have a mini league with those 3 teams, forget the rest and Talksport will be happy. Utter wankers.

yes I heard the lack of coverage on talksport too....disgrace !

Alan Brazil did however mention this morning the pub in Blackfriars where he was drinking on Saturday with 80 Brighton. Not that he was very friendly though !More p*ssed and slurred

King and Cas last night was just a disgrace. They have Bryan Flynn on the line talking about the situation at the Racecourse, so I'm thinking "at last, some national drivetime exposure that'll go behind just the headline about Administration..." Not a chance. The fella barely had 2 minutes on the show before Kinghorn said "Right, back to your calls then...who's the player your team cannot do without ? John from Bedford, you reckon Robert Pires".
That was it for me, I put my 80's - Mania tape on for the rest of the journey, and had Adam Ant calm me down instead.

At least they had Denis Smith on this morning talking to Beaky and Brazil, and they talked to the fella for 10 minutes or so, giving him a chance to go into a bit more detail over whats happening at Wrexham. But I may have listened to my last King and Cas show, their phone-ins are so vacuous and tedious. I'll stick to 5-Live at drive.

They also had a Wrexham fan on in the first hour of the show who tried to put across the situation but all Kinghorn wanted to know was which player was their biggest waste of money.

Patrick Kinghorn is a complete COCK who can be so f***ing pompous at times - he clearly doesn't know anything about football and more importantly, doesn't know what it's like to be a Fan.

The shining light on TalkSport is the Hawksbee & Jacobs show. I was on the birthday spread yesterday and they were happy to let me say my 'honourary Wrexham Fan' piece. They genuinely care about what is going on - because they are fans.

H & J are bloody superb, I was gutted when they got bumped from their Drivetime slot to the afternoons, cos I never get to hear their show any more.

Birthday Spread then - how did you call it hiney, yay or nay ? And were you right ? Hawksbee is a genius at that game, dunno how he does it.
