Brain dead MUG SHEEP
Just rattled this email off to TalkSport, cos I got SEVERELY wound up by the King and Cas today. Not that they'll give a stuff.
Unbelievable.
Wrexham FC apply to go into administration, the Football League is on the brink of losing one of its League One football clubs because of the scandalous actions of a property developing former chairman, and you and Cas spend a couple of hours prattling on about "what player your team cannot do without" (following on from yesterdays thrilling "what were the best little-known strike partners").
This is a REAL crisis affecting teams outside the Premiership, and a REAL subject to talk about. My own team Brighton have suffered through the actions of its ground being sold for property development - Pat, you've seen the results first hand for yourself, having endured the facilities at our "athletics track" this season. And yet Wrexhams plight barely merits a mention. Bryan Flynn comes on and gets all of TWO MINUTES to dust the surface of the disgraceful goings on at the Racecourse Ground, then he's quickly moved on so we can get back to taking about peoples favourite Premiership players. Give me strength.
The media's complete obsession with the Premiership helps perpetuate the utter apathy within the game when it comes to the fates clubs like Wrexham and Brighton are having to face. Do you not find it obscene that The FA and the Football League stand by and do NOTHING while this happens ? Do you not find it offensive that, with the multi-millions of pounds washing around at the top of the game, Wrexham are going under for the sake of £800k ? It absolutely STINKS. Of course, Man United get 2 or 3 days worth of phone-ins dedicated to them just because some American wants to buy them, but thats par for the course I suppose.
Pat and Cas - instead of messing about with tedious phone-ins about "most important players" and "favourite strike partners", how about dedicating a phone-in to discuss, highlight and tackle the scandal that allows businessmen to asset-strip and destroy a football club. At least thats something WORTH talking about.
From - a fan who is NOT obsessed with just 20 bloody football clubs.
