He stopped it because Fury was so much on top and the ref saved Furthia from getting seriously hiurt as he was taking too many punches. I thought he might have let it go the end of the round to give him chance to pick up but his first duty as ref is the boxers health and safety.

Obviously a typing error. It is so diffiocult to be perfect and not make a mistake.
One assumes that was deliberate.

Yes it was a typo.
Great fight for a heavyweight, i've seen a few of Tyson's fights now and they are always exciting, i think because he always gets hurt at some stage. He doesnt seem to have the granite chin the commentators always go on about.
Povetkin is a great fighter, full marks to Firtha for lasting the distance there.

erm after pass incidents refs and the boxers them selfs cant afford to let boxers get battered.
In terms of the topic, it's surely better to stop a fight possibly 10 seconds too early than 1 second too late.

Seems like a decent fighter but im not sure he has the build to be a top champion, maybe a bit overweight still

I know at you mean & had it been a middleweight battle I doubt it would have been stopped so soon but with heavyweights that size the ref has to be extra careful, they were some massive punches he was taking & they were rocking the head which is very dangerous

Fury is a breath of fresh air in the heavyweight division, a genuinely exciting fighter who is prepared to fight anyone.
At age 23 he has great potential, most heavyweights with the exception of Mike Tyson tend to peak around 32/33 so he has plenty of time to iron out the flaws in his game.
For a man of his size he has great hand speed, variety of punches and throws combinations very few heavyweights above 6 foot 6 are able to do including the Klitschko's.
Where he needs work is defense. In particular he needs to master like the Klitschko's have controlling the distance between himself and his opponent, they very rarely stay in the pocket and get hit cleanly. As good and exciting as Fury's last two performances have been he has been caught and shaken, it may make his fights less exciting, but it would eliminate much of the risk in losing which is what the Klitschko's have done and is why they are labelled boring to watch.
He also needs to stay disciplined out of the ring with his eating and drinking habits. He should be fighting at around 18 stone any more and surely his conditioning would suffer greatly as a result.
I wouldn't rush him at his age, I would keep him in at people of this level or very slightly higher for at least another twelve months and then target the likes of Chaegaev, Povetkin, Helenius & Solis.

He's exciting to watch & seems like a nice bloke but he's not going to
be a world champion, needs to be more defensive naturally seeing as he's vulnerable when he's hit with big shots, fights far to upright.
Yeah they could iron it out but I think that style of fighting is pretty much ingrained in fury & he'll always end up fighting like that when took into later rounds or hes took to the trenches, he's good to watch though

He must have a chance of being a World Champion bearing in mind the Klitschko's won't be around for too much longer and we have a plethora of governing bodies and world titles. The heavyweight division is so poor currently, that anyone with his skills and size must be a contender.

Never mind the refs in British boxing.
It's the judges that need sorting.I watched Friday Fight Night to see some non British bloke pulverise a local hero only to lose on a ludicrous points decision.I am not an ardent follower,but this was blatant home favouritism,laughable and needs changing soonest.
