But... with all due respect, we should be beating teams like Leeds and Forest.

Perhaps it hasn't occured to some on here - I mean hasn't passed through their slab of a skull - that Wilkins goes into every game believing we can win it, and sets his stall out to the best of his abilities. To say he goes into a match only looking for a draw is risible. The only time he does that is when we're drawing, we're under the cosh with a couple of minutes to go, and it's a case of 'what we have, we hold'. If YOU want to play kamikaze football, go find your own team to try it out on.

But guess what? So other teams' managers go into a game believing that they can win, and they are - gasp! - not only trying to stop us scoring, but actually having the neck to score against us themselves, the cheeky bastards. And some teams can do it better than us. Shocking state of affairs, I know, but sadly - it's true.

So bollocks to 'safe'. If we don't get into the Play-Offs, it's because we're not good enough (the final table never lies), not because anyone thinks the manager or the players lack bottle. And next season, we're going to try again. And again.

FFS. It's typical. Port Vale have been GASH all season, but now they've got nothing to play for they're bang in form for their WITHERS visit. :(

Fairweather enough to buy a THREE YEAR SEASON TICKET- THAt's £1200 TO YOU.

2500+ games

and sometimes I go off it.

(<ind you its not as bad as the 86-7 season!)

Hang on, you were the one telling us that you can't be bothered with Albion anymore and that you were going to jack it in so dont start having a pop at me!

Whoopie do for you with your £1200 POUND TO ME SEASON TICKET I am a STH too and I drive from Southend for every home game and I don't come on here to say I am dumping the Albion just because we are playing in a shit pit in the third division...er...hang on...WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE

No, we'd have 62 and so would they.

And if we'd beaten Forest and lost to Leeds, this is what the table would have looked like:

5 Nottm Forest 39 +23 62
6 Tranmere 41 +9 62
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7 Brighton 40 +8 61
8 Leeds 39 +27 60

So actually, we'd have been worse off with a win and a loss IMO, in that Leeds would only need a draw in their game in hand to jump above us, with a draw still insufficient in our game in hand over Tranmere to see us jump above them.

true enough.

You're talking reasoned, logical, realistic common sense.

That will never do on NSC - yellow card for you!

What you seem to NOT understand Alan is that we are Brighton And Hove Albion FC. We are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen.

Therefore we have a divine right to win every game.

Form table is very interesting. I always thought Walsall and Orient would blow-up (although I thought Leyton played well at Withers) but its Forest who are the team really under pressure. If they lose at Carlisle they may not recover.

So we drew with a team in 18th place in the form table!! Wilkins Out!

The point about two draws against two rivals is that we took four points off them. Of course a win would be better, but these could look like crucial points at the end of the season.

They have got something to play for though, they aren't relegated yet. Not sure whether that is a good or bad thing though.

we CANT get relegated, Job DONE for this season!!

Considering the GOON squad on here were predicting as much I think they should be cock a hoop with a brief flirtation with the play offs wherever we finish.

If Man Utd went away to Chelsea and Arsenal and got 2 points, I'm sure they would be chuffed.

I fail to see how getting a point against 2 of your main play off hopefuls is considered bad?

This time last season I was struggling to summon up the enthusiasm to go and watch a team that had only won five home games all season. This season we are 2 points off the play offs with a game in hand. I've not been this excited since the last play-off season. Don't look for negatives just enjoy a season in which great progress has been made and we still have a chance of a trip to Wembley and promotion.

I didn't see the Leeds match so I can't comment, but I don't think we went to Forest just to defend and nick a point, we nearly scored in the first five minutes. I thought the Forest game was one of the best games I've seen in a while.

Att his stage of the season, would you have preferred a win and a defeat (mpre points but presumably one iffy perfoamnce for the defeat) or two draws - less points but with decent performances?

Am I alone in thinking that we hmay have missed a trick here.

No because a loss would have given either Leeds or Forest 3 more points than us and made it more difficult for us to reach the playoffs

3 is only better than 2 when the games are against teams that are not direct competitors for playoff slots.

i think that if we want to get into the playoffs and have a chance of winniing we need to beat these teams not only draw. We need goals and they just don't seem to be coming.
