So, I'll be at home with a cup of tea whilst my new wardrobes are being fitted - next door are having a conservatory erected and at the moment the builders are effing and jeffing in the garden whilst drilling into the brickwork to sort out the wall ties - I wonder if they will stop to observe the silence...

They have the radio on so there is no excuse - I want to go out there and remind them that they need to stop it at 11 but I wonder if they will just think 'shut up you silly cow'.

I am fully expecting my office phone to go off during the two minutes silence - it did last year.

A warning tone happens after 15 seconds of the phone off the hook - I may unplug it...

After all that worrying, it was a perfectly observed silence here in WV9.

whatever you clicked on NSC at 11 you got the below and nothing else

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Looks like the club observed it too. Good stuff.

Shame the official site can spell neither 'Remembrance' nor the name of their own stadium sponsor correctly. Not good stuff.

just got back from shopping in Worthing with the missus and kids and gotta say it was held very respectfully by all, except the young yank/canadian lad and his girlfriend stood next to me in boots whio carried on talking and laughing. To each their own i suppose but i did get annoyed with him. Should have said something but respectfully didnt.

Was in a gym before heading back to work. Fully expected a message over the tannoy or the music to stop. NOTHING.

There was about 4 of us (didnt know each other) but all fell silent for 11.

Other people were talking and still CLATTERING weights around.

Quite annoyed me, actually.

They don't need to stop at all. It's their right to carry on working if they want.
