Interesting one. I do think people should be held responsible for their 'speech', however free they are to make it.

It seems that homophobic tweets are not held in the same regard as racist tweets. Why is that?

It all kicked off on here...some knobhead teenager on twitter got the grown ups all unnecessary.

Daz Balkham jumped in the noddy car and blues and twos up to Dulwich or somewhere equally shit to reprimand the ginger bellends parents.

Meanwhile in other news my tax dollar fails to catch real criminals.

Well they werent arrested for it, they were told not to do it again - fair enough. Without knowing what was actually said, it does count as banter - although there is a line and as i said, i dont know what they said as to how bad it actually was.

If its just stuff like "your all benders" or "you take it up the arse" - hardly something you call the Police over.

I think that Albion fans should lap this up. Everyone should carry a big pink handbag or wear a bright pink tutu, and when the away supporters start up with the usual chant, the Albion fans should start camping it up, blowing kisses, wave the handbags at them shouting "Oooh, get her", It'll really freak them out. Whenever I go and "that" chant starts up, I usually do that, minus the tutu and handbag. Shouting "F*** off" at them just makes it worse. Counter it with humour and handbags!!

Well, let me give you the backstory...after someone on here found this 15 year old (apparently middle class...who else has friend with names like Olly and Giles?) posted some drivel about Brighton fans being bummers and then claiming " before I die I want to kill a Brighton fan lol "

The witch hunt began..soon pictures of him and his chums from Facebook, which school he attends and the headmasters contact details...heavy duty shit like that...then the police are summoned, action is demanded...hunt this scum down, arrest him, throw him in jail for threatening to murder Brighton fans!

A 15 year old kid with more time on his hands than is healthy, who has access to a public forum and thinks he's Frank Harcourt or Carlton Leach and who (presumably) has listened to the homophobic nonsense spouted around the Croydon suburbs for the last 45 years.

If you looked on twitter for a phrase like "palace pikeys" "thieves" "gyppos" I am sure you would find many of our own teenage cherubs making ethnic slurs such as these...even on these pages perhaps? I've seen sigs such as ? "shoot the Palace scum"...this is a Murder threat now? Ffs.

Let's hope Palace fans don't notice any of that otherwise PC Balkhams going to need a new prison.

The day that Brighton fans are not allowed to be referred to as gayers and palace cannot be described as pikeys is the day I stop going to football.

What the f*** is wrong with people? It seems to me that all the JCLs who up until 2010 were supporting Chelsea or Man Utd via a plasma screen in the Franklin are surprised that actual real ife opposing fans are sometimes nasty about us?

Even the old hands seem to get all flustered about this silliness these days.

Let's get it straight. Homophobic abuse directed at homosexuals is abhorrent. Calling a football clubs supporters homosexual because their city of origin has a large and well known/vocal gay community is a phenomena long associated with football. It is,broadly, the same as referring to Liverpool fans as "bin dippers" or "doleites" because there is a long association between that fair city and eating out of bins and/or being, famously, unemployable. Most reasonably sensible people see it for what it is...a piss take, a jibe, a nonsense.

Take for example the (male)Brighton fans who turned up at West Ham in the pink ladies strips and started blowing kisses at the chicken run...that shut the knuckle dragging 'apply ammers up and won many friends among their support as well as being hugely funny. THATS what you do with morons..you turn a mirror on them...not the plod.

I am not sure what percentage of Crystal Palaces support are homeless,traveling folk or full blown Romany gypsies but it remains a firm belief of mine that an association exists which is strong enough to allow me to jovially refer to it whenever I come across them in their jester outfits and tartan caps.

What sort of world do we inhabit when Northerns cease to be monkeys, Tottenham are no longer looking over their shoulders for Hitler, and Swansea and Cardiff fans are not habitually balls deep in a sheep in their spare time?

The sort of world that exists in the East Stand...that's where.
