Bizzarre idea from the snooker bods to try and inject a bit of excitment into the game following the success of Twenty20 for cricket.
Wonder what other ideas they have, maybe playing loud music everytime a ball is potted

The premier snooker league has that....might even be 20 secs im not sure.

That's just daft. A poor attempt to try and make it more exciting.
The whole point of 20-20 Cricket is that it's an entirely different (and exciting) game.
This is exactly the same, just less balls / less of a score.
Players aren't going to have to change the way they play.
Just rubbish.

Another idea would be to have some sort of system like they used to for pocket money on big break. Selected pockets are worth double for that ball, or even have it so that you cannot put the black in either of the top two pockets.

Snooker is a class game, it doesn't need changing. Safety shots are a part of what makes it such a good game, perhaps it's boring for those who don't understand it, but the standard of safety play at times is just magnificent, it's a great sport to watch when you need to relax. It doesn't need to change.

I agree with you. The problem is that the game is just to slow for a lot of the newer audiance. Younger people do not have the attention span to sit and watch while two very skillfull players spend 20 minutes without scoreing a point.
