Very sad, but while I was living in Truro, I found that nobody really cared about them anyway (certainly nobody that I worked with) - mostly because Heaney was seen as an odious human being.
After all they achieved over the last decade, it seems a total waste. I wonder now how long it will be before someone else tries to bring league football to Cornwall.

The other night Chester City drew 1-1 with Bradford (Park Avenue) in front of a crowd of over 2,000. The result kept Chester top of Conference North and moved Bradford up to 9th.
I mention that as not only are those two both former football league teams, but both have gone bust and started again from the bottom - as have many others over the last twenty years. Going bust does NOT mean that the club have 'died', unless of course the Truro fans want it to die and don't want to start again. Hopefully the new Truro will play at a sustainable level as opposed to following the "let's spend money we haven't got to reach a league position we can't sustain" mentality.

I doubt it will be in my lifetime. They simply dont have the economic wherewithal to support professional football
I would agree with that. I could never understand how Heaney thought it was possible, to be honest.
Sad for the dedicated Truro fans, but they'll no doubt keep a club running back in the local leagues and see where it takes them.

Mr Webb said: "It's a sad day - I'm devastated. Hopefully I can get these six people together to keep a form of Truro City going."
Mr Webb said the club would have to play in whichever league would take it. He said he had previously been in talks with the administrators but his group was unable to provide the required £50,000 bond.
He was told on Wednesday that the administrators would be pursuing a deal with another purchaser who was able to stump up the £50,000.
The West Briton revealed yesterday that leading Truro businessman Tony Murtagh could be behind the rescue package.
A company called Truro City Football Club 2012 was registered at Companies House on Wednesday with Mr Murtagh as a director.
Mr Murtagh set up the Truro-based Money Group which specialises in re-mortgages.He was unavailable for comment.
Cornwall Council previously said it was considering putting £10,000 towards the bond but Mr Moore said that plan had now been shelved."

The link now says that in a last minute reprieve they have been saved from expulsion from the Conference. So, not dead yet.

Damn you, Horsham Gull.
I think it is sad. Truro City were desperately trying to become first club from Cornwall In League. Would be great to see all counties represented.

Horsham Gull you have made my day! Just picked Daughter up from Exeter Airport and drove the 200miles in silence as I was so gutted about Truro fc (got the news just before I left) arrived home to see your comment and couldn't believe my eyes! just phoned my Truro mates and we are going out on the town to celebrate (all 3 of us). w/e will be made perfect if my beloved Brighton win tomorrow
