Not nice, thing is if Zef tried that on with me (and I know he'd never ever in a million years do it) he'd probably get worse back....My right hook is a doozy!!

When I had all my prenatal checkups I was asked every time whether I was a victim of domestic abuse, and given leaflets about it...I was a bit put out, but after a while realized that it was probably the only time that some women were allowed to see a doctor or midwife on their own!! Its obviously a big problem...

Funny you say that - mrs rum is pregnant at the moment, and the first time we saw the midwife (it was a home visit) the midwife pointedly made a point of mentioning the domestic violence helpline.
She then turned to look at me, stopped talking and then glared at me.
I suppose you are right that it is a good chance to talk to women about something they might not be able to say to anyone else.
But I didn't feel very nice.

:nono:

(Didn't see the picture but I saw a bandwagon roll past and thought I'd hitch a lift on the back.)

I think there's a shocking statistic that shows that the majority of first time domestic violence incidence's happen when the women involved is pregnant.
f***ing appalling.

.....and that is probably just scratching the surface. Many, I am sure, go unreported.

Yeah, couldn't believe that when I read one of the 'manuals'.
Can't get inside the mind of a man that would start beating up his missus when she is carrying his little one?

No it didn't make us feel very nice either - but i suppose its better that they raise the questions I guess... If they don't they'll get blamed if something goes horribly wrong!!
