Well, the whole point of political protest, left or right, is getting numbers on the streets to make a point heard... Ive never seen Brighton EDL putting anybody on the street, other than 11 or 12 of them.. im a bit towards the left of Lenin, but I dont go to left wing protests anymore. Been there, done that... im happy with the numbers of Brighton EDL that ive seen... a dozen.

You never know , some supporters of certain political groups dont go on rent a mob marches....we all have certain political views ,so cause they dont banner wave you would never know what makes them tick...
Aren't their rent a mob marches the sole political activity that the EDL engages in? If you support their aims but don't join in with their hatefests you're not really supporting the EDL, you're just sitting at home racist.

They are are not really political though are they? more there to try and look hard.

If you were political you wouldn't need to try and get football involved

I think there all a bunch of numbskulls. I remeber when Taj building bottom of Jimmy St got taken over by some group or other protesting something or other and sat around on those horrid old couches all day doing cock all. Not a word of a lie, saw one of them being picked up on a sunday evening, by his Dad in a ford Mondeo, in time for school Monday. Either that or he was earning a few quid.
Also noticed those no marks who "occupied" the park bit near King & Queen who stayed until the wind and rain came. Spineless.

Sorry chaps very wrong , these guys are from brighton and have been all their lives , i could name at least 2 of them in the pics you are showing and more from what i saw out side witherspoons in george street and sorry to rain on your parade but they are also Brighton fans and have been since the late 70,s . i know what i am talking about cause i know them but really dont want to name them ....after all freedom of speech and all that.

They're not Brighton fans though are they? They are challenged individuals who happen to live in Brighton, football esp in the 70s and 80s was a good place to go to get a crowd mentality and good chance of a scrap or at least stand and shout a lot. That's why they go to football.

No. You're wrong. They probably are true Brighton fans, just like you and me. There's no denying we have fans of all political persuasions and I'll happily stand next to any of them (extreme left or extreme right) and sing GOSBTS and abuse the opposition fans. I'd just rather they all leave their politics at home.

The seaside.
It should be pointed out that the fascist mouth-breathers actually tagged their opponents (Unite Against Fascism and SmashEDO) in their posts about coming down - as others have said, the new Mods v Rockers where the mods are locals of all persuasions and the rockers are football hooligans from Hampshire, Essex and London wanting to piss and/or shit in Brighton's face. Call me a hippy if you like, but I know which side I'm on.

The fact that the EDL called off a demo in Burnley yesterday so more people could turn out in Brighton should indicate to even the stupidest of NSCers which of the two sides had come to Brighton to cause trouble, and which was locals protecting the city they live in.

even the stupidest of NSCers as you like to put it realize both sides are out to cause trouble and to claim the local twats came out to protect the city is pathetic! they come out regularly to deliberately f*** people off, scrap with the police and any group they dont agree with.....and i for one am f***ing fed up with them(all groups) holding the city to ransom every bank holiday

Maybe not protect the city but the fascist/racist pages have had a build up to this weekend, to 'get revenge in Brighton' (and other than revenge, I dont think anybody has actually determined their reasons for being in Brighton, other than to cause trouble), as they have been humiliated in the last couple of events staged. I dont like to see racists and bigots in Brighton, and to come to Brighton and start chanting homophobic chants says it all about these people.

Exactly. These regular EDL events in Brighton are all organised by the 6.57 Crew (Portsmouth hooligans) and the fact that many on here are happy to take the side of these out-of-town hooligans rather than the locals who turned out to try and stop them smashing up Brighton is pretty f***ing tragic, imho.

Yes, there is a Brighton branch of the EDL (the "Mighty mighty" Brighton Infidels), they even have their own branded hoodies, but there are roughly nine of them, one middle aged man who should know better and a handful of acne-riddled teens from Patcham.

Eh? That isn't what most people on this thread are saying. Most (including me) are saying that they don't like to see Brighton being turned into a protestors' playground when none of the protests (except Smash EDO where they want the local factory closed down) have any relevance to Brighton except in a vague "well we're all victims of globalisation/immigration" way.

YOU MAY BE GETTING MIXED UP WITH MARCH FOR THE FLAG AND POMPEY D, but as for smashing up Brighton you're sounding like a clown

Not frustrating at all. They are a tiny public nuisance that use up more of the cities resources than their numbers deserve. However, as these are generally KNOWN criminals with convictions for violence, a police presence is required......So, why did they come to Brighton DR ?

By their own accounts, the came to do 'flash demos', and apparently, this involved sitting in few pubs getting drunk, and chanting homophobic, and racist insults to local Brighton people.

Im not UAF or any other left wing group, but somehow, I can comment...from their own pages, they are still annoyed that Brighton didnt want them, and they came back to intimidate, and cause problems for Brighton... but, you KNOW that. So, not sure why you are unable to comment...
